Consider all the little costs most brides spend over $200 per person when they add in Wedding cake, band, food, flowers, location, linens, the bar! Bars average $5.50 per person, per hour. It just seems shocking because you are seeing the cost up front. Add up all the quotes you have so far including location costs and food. That should help you decide one way or the other. We are still on the case! I will try to find something else for you though.

Hi Southernthoughts, There is nothing wrong with you. Planning a wedding can be a handful. I like the idea of having your wedding close to home as Rosetta said. It would make your planning much easier. Have you guys set a budget? That is the next thing to do if you haven't. My FH and I set a budget before we set a date (lol). My honey is tight with cash. We have opted for an intimate ceremony with family and close friends and that is what is working for us. In any event, I wish you all the best!

It can be overwhelming. I am considering hiring a coordinator just for the rehersal, ceremony and reception. They will call all my vendors a few days in advance and then organize it all. They are based out of NC called AdamsandEvents.com. They even have a payment system. I plan on getting all my vendors myself and them having them help me pull it together. I sent them an email for pricing. I will let you know!That is if you are considering a NC Wedding!

That sounds great, ncbride2be. Remember guys seeing how much you have to spend is daunting but that is why you plan 18 months in advance. We spemd 12 of thse 18 months daydreaming about the wedding and cutting out pics, but not saving for the wedding. You can spend almost three times as much when you don't have a plan. Also spending tons on the favors then skimping on the food or location. Decide two things that are the most important to you then splurge on those. You can give ONE favor per guest and serve chateau briand at dinner or give 3-4 favors that average $3.50 each and serve mini wieners! Set goals and a realistic budget.

Don't feel bad,Southernthoughts.I'm going though something similar but with a little added drama.Don't elope, you'll look back later on and realize that you cheated yourself out of the wedding of your dreams.

I must say that we all will experience our share of drama, etc. throught this planning process, but as I have stated so many times before I am so grateful for this site. I am able to see that I am not alone, and that other ladies are experiencing some of the same things I am and offer their support. I am looking so forward to hearing and seeing all of the wonderful stories, pictures, etc because I believe that it will all work out!

Rony you know what...the important thing through all this "drama" is to remember that it will work itself right out and in the end you all will realize how strong you are without being aware of it. Be blessed sistas. :-)

Girl, thank you! At least, I'm not alone. I'm getting married in July and I don't have the first thing done! I can't sleep because I have all kinds of ideas floating in my head. I finally had to get someone to help me.

Welcome Tony.....relax honey, do not start hyperventilating...it will be ok like Rony said, the trick is to take it one day and a time, just purchase your dress and then things will begin to make since. Remember only you and your FH needs to really be there...oh and a witness :-)
