Platinum, gurl I am having the same issue. My 15-year old daughter will be singing to her dad and I. We have not decided on a song as yet. And beyond that I am stuck. Now that I have the apartment, I can move on to the finer details.

Congrats on your new apartment.I'm still trying to decide on which songs to use in the ceremony and who's going to sing.

Platinum aren't you a member of your church...don't they have a choir, are you not familiar with the choir director, can't you request they sing. At my first wedding my choir sang for me...you know at those times where your signing the registry or at unity candle......it added such a special touch and the same for you Rony.

Thanks Platinum. Charly, unfortunately, I'm having an intimate ceremony with only family and very close friends. If I invite my choir, some of my church family may be offended, and that is the last thing I want to do...... :-( It was an excellent idea though, thanks.

No man Rony.....if you request the choir to sing how in the world can they be offended...it'll be like they are working for you. What you can probably do is give them a donation so they will know it is definitely business.

Nah if the uninvited wants to come to the wedding they need to join the choir, but they need to know that the choir will not be eating. lol

Charly,I'm not a member of a church right now.As a matter of fact, I'm looking for a church "home".I'm not familiar with the Tallahassee area (where the wedding will take place).But, my FH's family and friends are excited about the wedding and they are offering to help.

We both know a few good singers (family members and friends) but deciding who will sing what is the problem.I'm confident that we'll get it together.

It's a blessing Platinum when family and friends are willing to pitch in and help. Something just may come out of it....

That's right!I'll continue praying and planning as usual.:-)

Question? would I be wrong for having cds played at the wedding except for the lighting of the candle?a friend of mine will sing "center of my joy".

this very moment...thats my first dance song....and when we are being announced at the reception...and walking to the head table.. that song will be sade "this is no ordinary love"

TonyaLanette you will not be wrong to play CDs. It's your wedding you can pretty much do what you want. Are you getting married in a church? I'm getting married and having my reception in a museum and I will play CDs and have two solos during the ceremony.

TonyaL...a lil clarification here please...are you asking if its ok to play cd's INSTEAD of lighting a unity candle or play cd's DURING the unity...I am a little confused there...! dumb me :-(

sorry for the confusion. I will be getting married in a church. i will only have my friend sing "center of my joy" when we light the unity candle. the other songs that will be played during the ceremony will be from a cd. i was just asking if that was too tacky?

hey all.......lil sad right now...but I know God didnot bring me this far to fail me...reception venue has given us an extension on the bill........we must have 500 a day until it is satisfied...now sales have dropped to an all time low...tryin not to panic but just a few days left...4 g's in the hole. Some days sales are $0. I can't beleive this is happening....so close to the date. I try to stay upbeat and on the board to keep me from falling to pieces...my mom suggested I burn frankincense and say a prayer which I did....and still am...I'm not in the zone yet...just worried.

I got "there is none like you" on repeat and I just feel shaken at this point....so close yet a mile away from the goal.

IslandB..., for what I can tell you are a prayer warrior! The enemy has not place in this, trust God! I am a witness at how he can turn things around (my apartment just to name a few). Worrying is not of God!!!! He brought you through a stroke last August and has given you a wonderful testimony -- this will be no different! You have dedicated your life to Him, and He will see you through this my sista!!!!!!!

Rhonda u are so right....I am so much bigger than this. I have been so drained supporting everyone else at this point in my life. I feel like I am planning all alone...not even my mom is here for me to just lean on...she is very aged and is in another state until the day before the wedding...i remember those days when i felt unsafe..i would crawl on my father's lap and even though he didnt have a million dollars...his hug made me feel so rich....now all i have to comfort me is his military flag on my shelf and a picture where he is smiling...and on a good day i swear he is smiling at me but once i wipe my tears...the picture is the same as it was....I know this makes me look so weak but I think my high is wearing off now...it is what it is..I never imagined it to be so stressful and worrisome. I need a moment.

IslandB.... it is ok you are human! When you need to feel safe, just imagine God with His loving arms around you -- there is no safer place. Your ViBride sisters are praying for you too. Don't let this "trick of the enemy" stress you. Girl you can make it! Keep playing "There is none like you", if that is what gets you through, then so be it!!!!! Hang in there girl, when it is all said & done, I would love to be sitting in church when you give your Testimony!!!!!!

hey ladies....just finished my last night of counseling with the Bishop....countdown is on..

Another major milestone accomplished...nah you can cross that off the list...ya getting there, count down is difinitely on :-)

Island...girl I have to agree with everyone else...in the end it will all be worth it. when you walk down the aisle and see your hubby to be.....you'll see that it was worth it. weddings are so beautiful. keep the faith and let go and let God handle whatever you've got. i wish you all the best.

Tonyal...I really really hope so...just when i had a little glimmer of hope yesterday..it is fading fast..reception hall originally gave us payment extensions...now the sales rep emailed me lastnight talkin about pay up or get put out....
