I'm looking for red dresses (a little white or black on it is ok).Knowing what I'm looking for do you have any suggedstions on dreses or HOW MUCH IS TOO MUCH TO ASK THEM TO PAY?
Please also consider that we will be getting married in March 07 in my sister-in-laws backyard (wedding and reception will be in the same place)

Hey alvinslove. My colors are black and white and we are carrying red roses. My bridesmaids dresses are $164.00. I asked my Maids what was too much. They all said nothing over $200.00. So I suggest that you just ask them what is too much to pay for them and that will give you an idea of what price range you should stay in. Hopes this helps. : )

Phenomonique can help you find any style you want and her prices are extraordinary and she will ship them to you...or you can look in David's bridal. they are famous for cocktail dresses in assorted colors. You can't lose either way, the only thing I am not comfortable with is David's dresses....it seems that you can always identify them so my first choice to you is Phenominque...she is the resident Diva here :-)

Welcome to the boards Soon2bmrshall! Alvinslove, check the websites and get different ideas. I found the dresses for my bridesmaids at Bonny.com. I presented the dresses to them and they liked them. I personally didn't want them to spend more than $200 either. Their dresses ranged between $150 and $165 (different size ladies). I will be visiting Phenomonique's shop and allowing her to work her magic. In any event, you have some time so do your thing gurl.....

I think $200.00 is a wonderful price especially if it is inclusive of dress, shoes, accessories, hair and make-up....seeing that the bouquet is the bride's responsibility.

Thanks ladies.I will have to check a few more sites out.I have picked out a few I like so far. Now I just have to narrow it down to if I want them to wear tealength dresses or long dresses. My wedding is mid March (07) in California. I live in the Inland Empire which is basically desert that they are trying to build on. For those who dont live here it can get very very hot here but at times it can get windy, sometimes both came at the same time. I dont want the ladies to be too hot in a long dress but I also dont want their dresses to be blowing around or worst to fly up over their heads. I have my work cut out for me...but I will survive!

I think the danger is in the short dress...there is likely hood that they could blow up but with the long dress, because it is such a wonderful occasion I don't think they will feel the heat.

Thanks for the sites I will be checkin those as soon as possible.I like the idea of having long dresses too but I dont know.....I guess I think too much..........i think about the worse/best case senarios of both....
Long- heat will make you too hot and sweaty.If you have a silk dres sweat can stain.These dresses may never be worn again because they may be too dressy.BUT if its windy you will keep warm in your dress and it wont fly up.
Tealenght- it may get hot and sweaty and give you sunburn if you have sensitive skin since we will be outside for the reception as well as the ceramony.And your dress may blow up.But if it is hot you will not get over heated and more than likely you can wear the dress again if you wanted to because it wont be too dressy or too casual.
AllieS that is the best thing to do...at least if the sorst happened then you would have been prepared for it and you would know how to adjust.

I talked to 3 of my potential bridesmaids and they all said $200 - $250 is a reasonable price for dresses and shoes.So now the hard part is getting down to picking the actual dresses I want them to wear.
Well you are starting early so, you have plenty of time to shop around and find what you really want. That is one benefit of planning early, it offers you the ability to have flexibility when you need it.
