I don't think it will be weird.....different but not weird. Or you can have 2 bearers, one carry the ring and the other the broom.

Welcome soon2bmrshall, I don't see anything wrong with what you want to do. I'm not having a ring bearer. The bestman will have my ring and the MOH (Maid of Honor)will have my FH(Future Husband)ring. The broom bearer will carry the broom then stand with the groomsmen. He's doing double duty. He's my soon to be stepson. Good luck.
