Hi ladies, like most of you I have been buying things and putting them away for my 11/06 wedding. My delimma is I don't have a lot of storage space. I want to keep buying things so that it won't be a hardship on me, but I need a separate room for my things (lol). What are you ladies doing, any suggestions would be most appreciated.

I will be in the same position soon Roni! I live in a 2bedroom apartment that is filled to the max and my FH is already complaining about where all the stuff will go.Since we have a roommate I will have to find a place to put everything so that it doesnt look too cluttered in there.Another problem I will have soo is I willbe moving in about 6 nonths so I will have to unpack and have all my decorations and things stored.
What I have considered doing is buying those huge storage totes to put my hings in when I order them. You can buy them in all sizes from like target,walmart,kmart...ect! That way it will be easy to stack up in one corner of a room and not take up toomuch space.
Hi Rosetta, yes that is out of the question, (lol). I almost have everything that I need. My FH is a super neat freak so I must have everything stored in an exceptable manner, as not to create any clutter. I'm going to talk with him about AllieS suggestion to see if I can store my items in those plastic storage bins. Wish me luck guys......

Rony I know you aint in to hearing this but until you move slow down on the buying...at least!

I haven't bought anything else, but the items are still being delivered from things I purchased last month. I made a vow not to buy anything else until after I move. But my question was for my new living space. I just wanted some ideas on how other ladies were storing their purchases.

Ohhhh...well then hmmmm!....isn't there an extra room you can dedicate just for this purpose or is there a basement or maybe a laundry room that you can use in your new apartment?
Charlotte wishes you all a beautiful Christmas filled with loads of love, laughter and the true meaning of this blessed season.
Unfortunately not Charly. I'm just going to have to wing it. The good thing is I don't really need to buy anything else. I have most of the things I need.
Delight yourself in The Lord & He will give you the desires of your heart!Ps 37
Well that is a plus...look around at all the extra space in the apartment like under the bed, on top of kitchen cupboards, under the table and china closet,...look around and use what you can find.
Charlotte wishes you all a beautiful Christmas filled with loads of love, laughter and the true meaning of this blessed season.
Thank you Charly will do. Because Felix Unger (from the Odd Couple, also nick name for FH) is not having it -- he will not have any clutter!!!

LOL...love the nickname, I can't stand clutter either, my kids can tell you, when they see me coming, they run look see if any toys on the ground cause they know I will through them away, so they learn to hide them....:-)

This is the dilemma I'm having....I see things in Micheal's and online I need to purchase, but I don't have ANY extra space at my house and no I don't want to put my mice wedding stuff in my fiance's stinky garage (as he suggested). So far, all I have is my wedding dress and that's hanging up on a wall in my room (and it's driving me nuts--My fam thinks I suffer from OCD sometimes). Mom suggests buying a big rubbermaid container, but I don't have anywhere to put the container. So back to the original problem....

Cinamin1 we have to find a way. You want to purchase things because it just helps the planning go smoother, then you have to deal with storage issues. I'm going to opt for the plastic rubbermaid containers and pray that I can find a way to store everything without creating any clutter. Maybe you could try reorganizing to see if you could make room for it. Charly gurl you crazy, throw the kids toys out.... so they learn to hide them from you -- too funny.

When my husband left he stop paying the mortgage on the house and me and the kids had to move (as per bank's demand)...can you imagine trying to fit things that were in a 3 bed 2 bath house with family room, living room, dinning room wash room, kitchen and an attic into a 2 bedroom apartment...it was hell, I had to give away a lot of the kids toys just to fit but I learned how to store. My bedroom set is a victorian cherry wood which is high of the ground...so that can store a lot of stuff under it, I use the kitchen cupboard (under has my china) and the top, I have my kids toys under their beds and in the closet and the linen closet has an iron tub filled with things to iron, towels and sheets and the place looks very presentable. I have become a master at storing....you guys can do it..just look around each room and visualize the possiblities.

Charly you have seemed to accomplish the impossible. My little concerns seem almost irrelevant considering what you were able to accomplish. Wow, if you could pull that one off, then I know I can surely find someplace to place my wedding items -- after all it is only for a few months anyway.
Delight yourself in The Lord & He will give you the desires of your heart!Ps 37
That's what I'm talking about right there!...nah go stores those bad boys :-)

Wow DaughterRhonda! I could only imagine what your apartment looks like because of the move. Congrats by the way. Bottom line, remind your FH that what you're buying for the wedding will only take up space temporarily. You're not making "clutter". As a matter of fact since your FH has the name
Felix Unger as a nickname he should be able to prepare a space or a couple of spaces for you to temporarily store your things. What do you think? Where there's a will there's a way. smile.

Marshine, that is an awesome idea! I will let Felix handle this one. I will present it to him in the way that you recommended and then allow him to work his magic. This will be right up his alley (lol)!!!!! Thanks.

Yeah marshine! That is the best idea yet..

That's why I love this site. While it may seem like a crazy question in the beginning, you ladies know how to turn things around and give some really useful information.

MY SOLUTION: Buy rubber-maid containers & store them at FH's house. *waaaaaa!* No other choice at this point. I'm finding too many items on sale/clearance (like tablecloths for $.64, crystal-handle cake servering set for $5, $.99 garland, etc.) that I should get now or I'll regret it later.

Hello there ladies, I challenged Mr. Man to sort through the wedding things and to organize them in a way that is suitable. Well I stroked his ego a little and told him that he is sooooo good at these things, and he accepted the challenge with no problem. (lol). Things are coming along nicely. Thanks for all of your help.

Well now that you are in you new place where he also will be eventualy I am more than sure he is not up to living in clutter so he will help...nice reverse psychology :-)

Reverse psychology works, although I'm not sure why. Men are so strange. But ya gotta love 'em!

Strange and definitely not as smart as women and for the reason alone you gatta love em (lol)
