Wedding Date: How important is your wedding date to you?

we chose March 15th because it was the Saturday before Spring Break week began for my son, that way we could go on our honeymoon and my son would not have to miss any school.

I opted for a summer wedding, but DH did not want to wait another 3 months and also, the summer is always busy for us both...

It has already began to be a semi problem because every yr now when our anniversary rolls around (which falls during spring break) he wants to do some "US" but we now have to figure out how to squeeze in some "WE" time with my son during his off time...

I couldn't imagine getting married on October 31st either. Eeewwww!!!!

My husband and I originally wanted to get married in September. However, because my cousin had set her date for September first, I had to push mine back to November. Now mind you she ended up postponing her wedding until August of the following year.

We originally wanted to get married on June 9 (06/09). That was the day we started dating. But the year that date fell on a Saturday, wouldn't have given us enough time to plan the wedding. So we chose September 6 (09/06) which is our dating anniversary backwards

My DH was so indecisive about picking a date that I had to get creative. He likes playing the numbers so on a piece of paper I wrote 407, 414, 421, 428, 505, 512, 519, and 526. I asked him what looked like a good number to play and he picked 428. I said good, you just picked April 28, that's our wedding date. He just looked at me and said okay. A couple of days later he was listening to one of the songs we consider to be our song ("Prize Possession" by The Isley Brothers) and he came in the house all excited because he realized a lyric in the song mentions "Lady April". He was so proud he picked an April date.

We orginally wanted to get married on the date he proposed which was September 21st which also was my bday. BUT because of the availiability of the church and the reception hall we had to change it, so that's the story of our July 28th wedding date!

We originally wanted to go for a summer wedding, like August but my friend was also getting married in August (which she pushed back to aug 2009) so we moved up to june but both my kids birthdays are in june and that was just too much for the month, so we went with 4/11 we just thought it would be cute but then alot of our families started to say how difficult it would be to get there on a friday (most of our guests were from out of state OH, NC, SC...) so when we realized that switching to saturday would not cost us much more we switched days. although everyone did like the 411 idea.

Yeah nothing romantic or sentimental about picking our date. Just a matter of a girl doing what a girl gots to do. If I waited for him to make a conscientious decision we'd probably still be engaged.

our date is my grandma's birthday 10-11-08 we love this lady so much she is the head of our family she holds us down keeps eveyone grounded and has a mean straight right jab.

FH actually picked the day we officially got together (Nov. 6th, 2006) but when we saw that it fell on a Thursday in 2008, we changed it to the 8th. I cant wait!!!!

Our wedding date changed a few times. It went from Labor Day weekend in Sept of 2007 to Memorial Day weekend in May 2008 to our wedding day August 8, 2008! I was initailly shooting for a holiday weekend to make it easy for my OOT guests and so I could have a Sunday wedding to save a few dollars. The Sept date fell through because it was too late to plan the way I needed to plus it was my MaOH's anniversary weekend. The May date fell through because things just didn't come together. It was then that DH and I decided to scale back and spend less so choosing a Friday made that easy. Plus we got married on 8-8-08!

Initially it was really important. We planned for a May 1st wedding or as close to it because our anniversary was in May, but things got complicated with my school/internship schedule, and my brother was graduating that weekend so we didn't want to steal his thunder (well thats what we were thinking in 2006)....Long story short we went with March 3rd because like Soon, it was right before Spring Break which would have given me time to go on a nice little mini honeymoon. I was doing the first phase of my internship AND teaching a class at FSU at night, AND teaching life skills class for middle-school girls 2 times a week (The girls classes were cancelled that week with no problem) but the Spring Break for college was easier to plan. So we ended up going for convenience, but it worked out well because we were getting married when hotels tend to be cheaper, thus we celebrate when hotels tend to be cheaper!

Originally, our wedding was to be at the end of October,09. Then a sister helped me realize that it was the same day of halloween. We then changed it to October 17th. Then FH got all sentimental on me and wanted us to be married on September 12th, the anniversary of our 1st date so long ago. And that's how we arrived at our new wedding date.

My date was chosen for July,3 because it is exactly 1 month after my Birthday. I figured 2 gifts in a 1 month time frame WooHoo. Oh and it's beatiful that time of year.

It's exactly one week after my B-day, but we didn't have any specific reason for chosing our date. We just knew we wanted to get married when it was warm.

My date is really important. He wanted a July wedding so I looked up all the Saturdays and one of the Saturdays lies on my birthday month, so I we went with that one. July 17,2010.

Oh crap...My date was so random. We chose 12/2 because first & foremost: hurricane season was over and we hoped it wouldn't be as hot. Plus, that day was smack in the middle of both our birthdays. We wanted to get married on the same day as the proposal 5/5, but it didn't work out that way, due to South Florida's wet springs/early summers.

Getting married on Halloween is creepy. My coworker got married on 10/31 because they love Halloween so much. (weird)

We're getting married on Valentine's Day - 14 Feb 2009. I thought it was romantic that FH actually took the time to find out that Valentine's Day was on a Saturday next year!

I know hun - I'm really trying!!! Work has been so busy - I haven't had lunch for three days!! On the good side - maybe I'll lose some weight for the wedding!

I even brought work home but I've spent the last 2 hours on here!!

Thank to everyone yes I'm faily new and I'm just getting started organizing everything, so far I've stated the date. My colors are Colbalt Blue and Sorbet Pink. I'm using the Alfred Angelo design. He's a great designer. I need help locating a castle cake per. the groom and I'm having a hard time finding a site for info. I also need the template for the layer program and I will let everyone know what else I will need. I have a theme of Angels copying the " Tyler Perry's Movie" Madea's Family Renioun, except my angles will be floating on foot not in the air. I'm getting married in a church, so I thought the angle theam would be perfect. I'm open for ideas from those that has went alittle future than I.
