Changing the date

Due to some financial set backs from a few months ago,I decided to move my wedding date from June 17 to September 23, 2006.We're paying for the wedding ourselves.I talked to my Fiance and he really wanted to keep the June date;but he understood. Now, I'm back to square one with booking locations for the ceremony and reception.I'm so stressed out that I have constant headaches.Earlier today, while driving my truck,I got so upset that I had to pull into a truck stop for a while.I must have cried for an hour.Luckily,he was asleep and didn't see me get upset.Ladies, pray for me...

Maybe this is a blessing. Keep your head up. Think about it this way, you'll just have more time to find better deals! Don't worry.

I know the feeling. I will keep you lifted in my prayers. There is a purpose for everything. A hard pill to swallow, but always remember that.

Only 38 more days!!

Patience and hard work will get your the place of your dreams Platinumstyle. You contribute so much to vinrides. Maybe some of us can help you with locations. Maybe you should keep the ceremony and reception in the same place to save money. Consider cutting back on the hall decorations or simply decorate your ceremony site with candles, rather than more expensive flowers. We are here for you and I am already praying for you.

That is some wonderful advice right there...I also heard that tulling, baby's breath and ribbons are a wonderful way to make center pieces and save money.

Re: Changing the date

PlatinumS, it will all work out for your good. For the few months that I have signed on to this site, I've seen how so many brides faced what seemed to be the impossible. It has worked out for them. IslandB is a prime example. My apartment situation is another example and it worked out for us as well. Hang in there gurl. The sistahood has your back. We are definitely praying for you. Always remember to ask The Almighty for His guidance and you can't go wrong with that. Chin up darling -- we love ya!!!!!

Delight yourself in The Lord & He will give you the desires of your heart!Ps 37

Platinum,
I understand where your coming from my date was scheduled for June 3 of this year, but I felt we needed to move it out until next year. It has been a blessing since we've made this decision. Just allow God to do his thing. Just relax, relate, release everything will be fine. Things always happen for a reason, don't le this get you down.

Re: Changing the date

My FH has been talking about eloping. I personally don't want to do this, because I have already spent so much money. I want to want to walk down the aisle and have my dream ceremony. I don't want' to fuss about it, but like I do with all other dilemma's I will leave this one in God's hands.

Re: Changing the date

Thank you Ladies for your ideas and thoughts.I'm still praying to have my "Platinum style" wedding.I may have a possible reception location but still not sure about the ceremony.I'm scared of having an outdoor wedding at one of the state parks because of the heat, possible rain, or mosquitos carrying everyone out of the park.Lol!I'll keep you Sistas updated with my progress.

Re: Changing the date

Good luck Platinum, I hope you get the wedding you want. I understand how you feel, we had to push our wedding back 2 times already. FH just finished BA then, entered MBA, and i'm still in school & only working part-time, but I refuse to push this wedding back for the third time, so I just leave it to God and do the best I can do.

Re: Changing the date

Good for you V2! I am glad your FH has his head on. Don't let this wedding come between you and school though. It's hard enough planning a weddding without final exams looming!

pLATINUM, BARGAIN HUNTING CAN COST YOU MORE IN THE LONG RUN IF YOU DON'T STICK TO A STRICT BUDGET. WHEN YOU FIND A CEREMONY SITE ASK WHAT ALL COMES WITH IT! SOMETIMES CETERPIECES ARE INCLUDED IN THE RECEPTION JHALL RENTAL ESPECIALLY AT HOTELS. Sorry about the caps. I got excited! [lol]

Re: Changing the date

Platinumstyle, you've got to do what you've got to do. A date is just a date. A co-worker of my FH and his girlfriend had so many setbacks in their lives but when the dust finally settled they went to the justice of the peace and tied the knot. They didn't want to wait for a "date". Oh yeah, they only told a few people and now they are concentrating on planning the ceremony. I thought that was cool. I said that to say The Lord knows what He is doing so go with the flow. Talk out loud with Him and ask Him questions. He'll answer you in due time. All good will come out of this. Good things happen to good people. You're in my prayers.

God is good all the time and all the time God is good

Thank you Sistas.I feel much better when I read your responses.I think that I may be able to hold my reception at a local night club.I haven't talked to the owner yet because I'm on the road. Also, I'm going to check out some of the local churches and see what I can come up with for my ceremony. But, I'll let you know how that goes.God Bless all of you!
