Cin, don't feel like you need to compete with her.Just do your wedding YOUR way.So what if she has a bigger budget and tries to do things over the top.You never know, she may be putting herself in debt.Like the other sistas said, go to her wedding and take notes.You'll be surprised what you can come up with on a shoestring budget.Also, go back and read Rosey's articles and scan through some of the old postings for your ideas.I did, and now I'm not so discouraged.I'll keep you in my prayers.
i would have to agree with all the other ladies take notes, but remember thats its your day and you shouldnt care weather your family compares her wedding to yours, just rememeber that you are marrying the man of your dreams, and that all that matter. you can do some great thing on a small budget. my wedding had 300 guest on a 10000.00 budget and you could have never guest that most of my decorations where made the flowers were made you just have to search for the good prices. good luck and dont let this get you down keep you head up

I am planning my own wedding also. There is a man who attends my church who is helping me with ideas etc. but I can't afford him as a planner. He is $1,000 PLUS dollars for his services alone. So that in itself is a blessing!
