I have to quote something you said on your forum Rosey and I really need clarification please because I am a second time bride and thinking of doing the opposite of what you are saying here..please explain.
"The bride should avoid the full length gown and veil. Wear a bridal gown that is quite formal, of course, and three quarters length or even street length but no veil. The Bridal Bouquet is always appropriate".

Charlotte wishes you all a beautiful Christmas filled with loads of love, laughter and the true meaning of this blessed season.
When did I say that??? think the opposite. I think a second bride should wear WHITE if she feels like it and even a ballgown. You saw the gown I really want for my renewal. Veil or no veil??? VEIL! lol

Thank you Lord cause to be honest with you I am going bigger than before - Ballgown with a very long train (Medea style), long veil - the only thing I will not do is have it over my face (like Maranda said on Sex in the City - I have 2 children the gig is up) lol

My saying again is "It's your day, do it your way!". Charly you deserve the best, so go ahead and plan the wedding of your dreams!

Ok Charley why arent you wearing the veil over your face? I was thinking about not having a veil at all but my mom said "I MUST" so I said I wouldnt wear it on my face...I cant stand stuff in my face which is why I wear my hair back in a pony tail all the time.As far as the Sex in the City quote...me and FH had 2 angels last year but neither survived.......are you not supposed to wear a veil if you already have/had kids? I'm confussed!Whats "the rule" ?
I am not wearing a veil over my face because this is my second marriage - as far as your situation Rosey needs to comment on that one.
Charlotte wishes you all a beautiful Christmas filled with loads of love, laughter and the true meaning of this blessed season.
Ok Charley...but why? I dont get it.You're not "supposed" to wear it on your face if you've already been married?why not? you're still a bride.ROSY HELP PLEASE!I need answers to this post and the previous one about the kids and stuff.
one of the wedding planner that did my first wedding said i could or couldnt not wear a veil over my face, that is was really up to me, but she also said that different wedding planners say different things, so i guess that they really is no rule to that. it up to you
Nowadays, people aren't following tradition to the letter. They're having their wedding the way the want.If you want to wear your veil over your face, do it.Never mind what others think or rules of tradition are.Have it YOUR way!
Born Blessed!
I agree with platinum. I'm thinking about wearing my veil over my face only for the suspense until I get to my FH, I want him to lift the veil see me first then the rest of the people can. I didn't know about those other situations with kids or being married more than once.

AllieS it has something to do with "virginity"..reading up on the history of weddings and why the bride covered her face that is what it was symbolic of - but like the other ladies said this is the 21st century and pretty much anything goes - it really depends on you and what you want to do I personally will not be wearing a veil over my face, my veil however will be longer then star jones veil (lol) but it will not be over my face.

I pretty much think that it is totally up to the bride. Some people are stuck on tradition. My mother (traditional church mother) didn't feel that I should wear a white dress, because I had my daughter before I was married. So what I did was choose a dress that is white, but also has navy and platinum the other colors of my wedding. In this way she wouldn't be upset. I decided on a dress that I really love and pleased mom as well. I will be wearing a veil over my face and yall know I am not a virgin. So again I say it's your day, do it your way (smile).

But Rony I personally think it is ok to wear veil if you have a child but I am not comfortable wearing it again becaue I was married before---to me a veil represents innocense and purity and nothing inncent nor pure about a second time bride.

Ok..I get it now the veil represents viginity right....so does it represent sexual virginity or marital virginity? I dont even know if that makes sense....lol?
Is it traditionally acceptable to wear a veil if you already had kids? FH and I had our two angels together last year but they went to heaven....techinically I do have kids they just arent living...so I'm definately not a "virgin" or "pure" either. But this will be FH and my first marriage.
I'm going to do what I want anyway but I would also like to know what the tradition is. You know like back in the days..what would they have done with this situation? Since everyone here is older than me (22) I can ask yall cuz yall know. What type of advice would your grandmother give?Yall know our grandmothers they tell it like it t i is....I would ask my grandmother but her father married her and my grandfather 40 years ago, they got married in her dads office because he was the pastor of the church. My mom is no help either she planned her wedding 15 minutes before it happened. I remember more about her wedding than she does and I was only 3 when she got married. She got amnesia when I was younger and everything from her past is a faded memory.
alvinslove i'm sorry to hear about you mother. now days tradition is what the new wave of brides make it. not many brides are going by the old traditions there breaking the rules and making there own. its you days and your way. just remember to make you own tradition something that you would be pride to pass on to your daughters, and future DIL's.
Well tradition dictates that white and the blusher (veil over the face ) is a sign of virginity. YEAH RIGHT!! I had a bride wear a blusher and her SON gave her away.
Living my life like it's GOLDEN!!
Charly you have to do what you are comfortable with. I do believe that as Happy says now days tradition is what the new wave brides make it. Whatever you ladies decide to do I know you will be absolutely beautiful!
