I agree, Crystal Light is pretty good, but it is an acquired taste if you are used to stuff being super sweet....I am not so it works great for me...the Wal-Mart brand tastes the same...and I buy the Walmart brand sometimes because they have my favorite flavor-fruit punch, and crystal light doesn't make that flavor....

[quote="TonyaLanette"]You have to drink a lot of water. Go to GNC and get their 21-day colon cleanser. It's in a blue and red box.

Any side effects, sickness, etc? I just bought some of GNC's 21 day cleanser....

Re: Colon Cleanse?

I dont like the after taste crystal light leaves but I drink it at work alot because thats all my SIL buys. They even have the travel sizes that you just pour into a bottle of water, shake and drink.
As far as being hick I like that I just dont like my stomach. Even in my smallest size growing up I was always thick but I had a really flat stomach. Now after getting pregnant twice and being on birth control my stomach is getting fat. I look bigger than I did when I was carrying the babies (1 was 4 months and 1 was 5 months).I didnt grow that big but they werent there full term either.Just imagine if I had both of them full term, I'd be as big as a wearhouse! I just started back into a good exerciase routine afte about a year and a half of doint minimum exercises. I used to walk alot and get on the treadmill. now I walk 1 1/2 miles to work and another 30 to pick up the boys from school and I do stretches and work with weights. I just decided I'm not going to stress myself to loose weight but to tone the weight that I have (with the exception of my stomach, I have to do something about that). My eating habits could be better, I really dont eat like I should considering I barely eat at all. I might eat 1 meal a day if that. Not becasue I want to diet but becasue I dont have an appetite.Just the smell of food can make me full, and if I have to cook it by the time I'm dont I dont want it anymore. IS THAT STRANGE?

Re: Colon Cleanse?

Wow Allies, I wish I had that "problem" -- lol!!! Girl I love to cook and eat! My family is from the South and we naturally cook large meals. I need to lose some weight though becaue I am not comfortable with my body. I was losing weight in the beginning, now I am not. I don't exercise like I should and I know that is part of the problem. I need to get disciplined, but this wedding planning is stressing me out.

Re: Colon Cleanse?

Rhonda thats exactly why I started working out again. the wedding planning stuff was taking over me so to work out my stress I exercise to relieve some of it. It doesnt even have to be long just take 5-10 minutes and dance around the living room or do some stretches I guarentee you will relieve some stress. Sometimes we have to act a fool to deal with whats ahead of us.
As far as the cooking and eating I've always been like that.Every since I was little I didnt like to be in the house when people are cooking then I cant eat.And if I did I'd be way later after everything was put up.I wa born with a small stomach so it wont hold much when I do eat. I can eat a Happy Meal from McDonalds and be too full. Another reason I barely eat is because I try to do to much in a days time. I be too casught up and forget to eat. I'm at work with the kids all day multitasking wth them and paying bills and planning the wedding then when I get home I have to cook for FH so he can eat when the gets home then there's cleaning snd more planning to do.Like all of us here I am just another SUPERWOMAN and I always have to come to the rescue.....the world would be lost if we didnt do all that we do....

Re: Colon Cleanse?

Hi Ladies!

Angela here...I saw this post and had to add my 2 pennies worth. I have bee na professional dieter all my life but have gotten much more interested since I am marrying a guy who was a boy builder and has turned me on to all kinds of neat stuff.
Having tried a few of the colon cleansing treatments (5-10 gallons of warm coffee injected internally) really does help. You see, what we put into our bodies, hotdogs, hamburgers, cereals, bread, anythiing cooked does rot in our stomachs if it is not totally digested in a certain amount of time.
Within that timeframe, one should eliminate everytime you put something in your mouth...input-output.
If this happens only sometimes or not at all, our system goes nuts and we can show it through or breath and our skin-the biggest organ of the body.
We can get pimples, dry, itchy skin, etc.
Think of it this way..if you keep putting things (food) into a trash can and never empty it, it will start to run over and there are plenty of side effects when a trash can is not empited for days, weeks, etc. You feel me now?
I know it is yukk but many of us love our good food and don't drink enough plain water (nope, juice does not count) to keep our bodies in running order.
Please feel free to email me at caverangela@yahoo.com for photos and mre information. This is fascinating stuff especially when today's culprits add to the "internal colon death" of many of our people.
(Information and knowledge is power!)

Live everyday as your last, Love everyone you see, Laugh all the time...life is funny sometimes!

Re: Colon Cleanse?

One of my bridesmaids keep telling me about colon cleansing. She has some sort of drink that she uses and now plan to go to the doctor to have it professionally done. I think she said water being injected into her rear end.

Re: Colon Cleanse?

House your bridesmaid is basically going to pay a doctor to give her what grandma would give her.......... an enema! They flush water and I think a small almout of soap (for comfort) into your rear and immediately the waste comes out! You can do that at home a few times a month and get the same results she's gonna get. As a matter of fact I never thought about tht until now. Maybe if I can take the little hose in the rear I will try it too.....NAH...NOT FOR ME!

I think that your body cleanses itself naturally. I am not going to try anything new.

If the colon cleans itself, then why before they perform a colonoscopy on you, they need to give you to drink such nasty liquid to clean your colon?

Just think about it.

Re: Colon Cleanse?

For the most part, it does cleanse itself naturally, We expel the extra bulk in our intestines to keep them from being blocked, but remember that our intestines can be up to 30 fet long when extended from the Small intestine to the large. Being that they are folded tightly in our tummies, some stuff is BOUND to get caught in there...Thats why when we pass gas on an empty stomach we still smell gas because the (good) bacteria is still consuming the little bit of food left in there that never really gets out. Now after 26 years (for me) I know that its disgusting up there. A colon cleansing or an enema here and there is okay, just remember they can be like douches because we still need some of the bacteria to stay, thats why most places just use warm water and no bacteria-killing chemicals....I think I will try it....The pill form wasn't working for me, plus i would forget because I hate taking any kind of pill.

I just bought an enema today. I know the body cleanses itself naturally but I know that I do not have that ideal natural diet and all the burgers and unnatural stuff I may have eaten in my life may be hiding in my poor body.

What's the difference between drinking a colon cleanser and drinking a herbal laxative tea?

Springbride~ A laxative will not clean the walls of your colon.

I probably know too much about colon cleansing my FH swears by it. He says it's one reason why he never gets sick. I have cleansed a few times. I try to do it every season, then I know I am doing it. But the first time I did it (that would be TMI!!! I won't go there).

Re: Colon Cleanse?

I hear these drinks are pretty good. I had a colonic irrigation earlier this year and it was certainly an experience I won't forget in a hurry! They basically flush out your system with water and sorry to say but.......I lost a lot of stuff I never knew I had!

I felt so light after it had finished - I felt like I was walking on air. They gave me some supplements to help with digestion after the colonic and they encourage more of a life change than using colonics as a short term diet fix.

I will definitely have one again before the wedding!

With this liquid colon cleanse, are you back and forth to the bathroom a whole lot? Is it like the effects of drinking prune juice? I am really interested in taking it but I don't want to take it and get caught up with the bubble guts on my way to or from work.

Rhony-what was your results from this? I am thinking of trying the GNC 21 day product...what type of side of effects did you have? were your weak, tired, did you have to stay close to a bathroom? FH and I both want to try it before the wedding, so I guess I need to determine how soon

Re: Colon Cleanse?

ok..well Ive done both the colon cleanse pills and also the colon clean at a local office here that does that

The pills:
Didnt really do much at all. I didnt see any difference. No running to the bathroom, no hurting stomach or cramps. Im not even sure that it worked

Colon Cleanse:
I went to a local place here that does it.
I was a little nervous but it wasnt bad at all.
This time...I could tell that it worked..LOL
After it was over....I was scared to get up thinking that I would have to run back to the restroom but the lady was really nice and explained beforehand that it was good to rest a minute and get up when you are ready.
I definitly plan to do it again probably a week before the wedding.
I think the place I went to charged about $65
Let me know if there are any specific questions.

wow 2bmrspotts-thanks for the heads up! I seeing alot of feedback on the pills NOT working so I was getting REAL discouraged;girl, you shouldn't have opened the floor for questions because I got plenty! :)
1. after the cleansing did you notice if you had lost any weight?
2. to get the procedure, did you go to a local dr. office or some type of speciality office?
3. how did you feel afterwards (weak, tired, stomach hurt, couldn't eat etc...)
4. how soon in advance would you suggest this procedure be performed before your wedding?

Hey 2bmsj,
Ill try and answer your questions as best I can...LOL

1. As far as weight loss...I weighed myself prior to going and then I weighed myself as soon as I got back home. I noticed that I had lost 1 pound. However....the next day I found that I had lost a few pounds. Now I cant say if that was related to the colon cleanse or not because at the time I was doing some serious working out.

2. I didnt go to a Dr's office. I went to a office that only does colon cleanse. The lady who owned it is a nurse and does this part time by appt only. The office was set up very nice. Someone told me about her and then I checked out her info online.
There are a few sites you can check to ensure that the center that you go to is certified etc.
The site I used was www.colonhealth.net/therapist-search/united-states.html

3. I felt tired afterwards...but I also felt empty (I know that sounds weird) but I could really tell the difference.
When it was over I went STRAIGHT home..LOL
I was kind of nervous....but it was ok. I didnt have anything leaking or any needs to RUSH to the restroom.
I did notice that for the next few days bowel movements were Extremely limited. I called her about that and she explained how there was no more build up ...etc etc ( Im trying so hard not to gross you all out..LMAO )

4. I think you could do it as soon as you like. If you wedding is not very soon, you should go ahead and try it to see how it is. I plan to do it again the week before my wedding and the way that ive been eating for the last 2 weeks I may go ahead and have one done within the next few weeks.
They suggest that you go more often but I think once ever few months will be good enough for me.

HTH
