Askalot, what's your story?
Okay, I will try to say this as short as possible. When I was in H.S. I was in a Sorority (a chapter that's under Delta Sigma Theta). One day at step practice, my cousin was dropped off by this fwine (fine) guy. I told her "I HAVE TO MEET HIM - YOU HAVE TO HOOK ME UP". So, the next day she gave me his number. We talked and stupid ole me, playing head games (I was 15 years old), told him hold on, this is this guy with a BMW or this guy that likes me keeps calling me, etc. Little did I know, that turned him off - he thought I was a hot tail. So, we stopped talking.
Then, 3 years later, he came into a store that I worked at but he had a girlfriend and baby - he said I gave him the most evil look - I don't remember that though. lol I had moved on anyway and was pregnant myself. Then, we ran into each other again and exchanged numbers again around around 1 1/2 years later, but once again we stopped talking. Around a year after that, we hooked up again and haven't been separated since - this past June made 9 years!!! That's the end of my novel. lol
There's some other stuff that happened in between us stop talking and talking. But, the bottom line is, looking back, God sent me my husband yeeeeeeeeeears ago!
From the beginning: My sister, my BF and I were drinking Dirty 'tinis and lamenting on how hard it is to find sane, intelligent men our age. We also questioned where we could meet them. BF came up with "Online Dating". So I guess the 'tinis we were drinking encouraged us to sign up at some. We each chose a different service and put up profiles and pictures. I didnt' take it seriously until the next day when I was hungover and checking my email had quite a few responses. One stood out from a man in NC. His picture looked pretty good, he said he was educated, had a long military career and said was interested in a serious relationship with someone like me. The leftover vodka in my brain said "say something back to him". I responded. We started IMing and discovered we knew some of the same people, were in college in the same area during the same years but never met. I was a little wary at first because of the horror stories I'd heard about internet relationships. I live in SC and he was stationed in NC and after the IMs and talking on the phone for a while I started thinking it could have some possibilities. I had also asked a couple of his frats from college (he's a Nupe) about him and both said he really was a nice guy. After 2 mos we decided to meet in person. I was smiling and being a lady outside but inside my brain was saying "girl, do not mess this up!" That was 2 yrs ago. I don't recommend internet dating by any means and I know I really got lucky. But like Pebbles and Babyface sang:"Love Makes Things Happen, you never know where it's coming from, you never know who you're gonna love." And to think, it only took me 44 yrs and 1 month to find the man of my dreams!
What God has joined together let no man put asunder...
we actually met at a gas station-he had just moved to the area and he was looking 4 a "black" church, I invited him to my church and that is all she wrote!!
We met in the most unusual of circumstances. We have a mutual friend. I called looking for this friend because that was the number I had for that friend at the time, not realising that it was my FH's cell phone number. I called and FH answered, and I thought I had the wrong number. I called again and told him that my friend gave me that number to reach him and I forgot to tell him my friend's name and I assumed that I'd copied the number wrong. I told FH that I was sorry to continue to interrupt him and he told me that he was in class at the moment and made me promise to call him back afterwards. I refused, but he was so very charming and his voice, oooooooooooh so sexy. Finally, I agreed and called him back. Two weeks later, he came to visit me and it was terrific!!! He came with roses and one of my favorite chanel perfume. We've been inseparable ever since. We've now been together for a year and a half.
The story on how I met my FH is really long, and has a lot of exciting twists and turns, so I will keep it as short and to the point as possible.
I met my FH back in HS. We have been best friends for almost 20 yrs. After making one of the biggest mistakes of my life and turnung him down for someone else, we both went on to marry other people but still kept in touch off and on and still remained best friends. We eventually lost touch for about 3 years. I went on divorce my then husband at the time (some relationips were never meant to be).
I knew that God had someone special for me...
One day while at work I was online looking up some info on the County Court website when I decided to look and see if he was still married and to my surprise there was a divorce case listed. I could'nt believe it. After multiple attempts to try and reach him using a mutual friend I seemed to be getting no where, when one day my sister suggested that I try looking him up on MySpace. We eventually found a profile that fit his last known location and age range but still wern't 100 % sure if it was him. In order to view a profile you must create your own, so I did. But after looking into his profile there was not much info to go off of because there was no photo and the person had not logged on in months.
So I went in to work one day and was checking my yahoo mail account when I noticed that I had a mssg from someone in MySpace ( no, it wasn't him ) but I got this idea that if I went to his profile and reqsuested him as a friend that maybe it would send a mssg to where ever he had an email account. So I did. And As I sent the mssg off I prayed "Lord, please let this go through". I went home a few hours later and while lying across my bed I decided to do a US people search and pay $40. So I grabbed my wallet and went to the computer. But before I did the search I prayed yet again, "Lord, please don't let me waiste my money". And a thought came to me to check my emails, so I did. AND LOW AND BEHOLD there was a reply from the person on the myspace page with no profile in my inbox. I opened it up and IT WAS HIM!!! I sent him my phone number via email and after about 20 minutes ( he later told me he didn't want to seem desperate! ), my phone rang and it was number that I didn't recognize. I answered "hello" and the next voice I heard was one I hadn't heard in over 3 years saying "Good Evening" in a low sexy tone. I SCREAMED TO THE TOP OF MY LUNGS!!!! I couldn't beiliev it was finally him after all this time. We talked for almost 2 hrs when he decided to just come over. I gave him directions and he finally arrived and I can still remember how good it felt when we finally saw each other again. We hugged for the longest time......
Well that was back on Oct 12, 2006 and we have been a pair for almost a year now!!! The wedding is currently being planned! I must say, that I will have the opportunity to eperience something that very few ever get to experience in life, and that is....to marry my BEST FRIEND ( For REAL )!....Sorry So Long
I met my FH in preschool. He was a grade ahead of me. The last time before adulthood was when I was in the first grade and he was in the second (we had combined classrooms back then).
The next time I saw him was at a TGIF and he was meeting come people to plan his 20th HS graduation reunion. My girlfried was a little salty when we greated with a hug asking each other if we remembered each other. "Oh how could I ever forget you" was his reply. Yep I blew him off. The next time I say him was 2 years later at an alteration shop (my daughter's boyfriend needed his prom suit pants hemmed), we got exchanged nice-ities and that was that.
We met again at the same shop a year later and this time a small voice inside my head said to stay close to him. I found out that we shared many things regarding our walk with God. We soon became best of friends.

Hey guys - greetings all the way from the UK! Although I joined ages ago and I have enjoyed reading what the regulars have to say - I thought it was about time I joined in with what seems like a lot of fun!
I've known my FH for many years - our parents came over to the UK to live in the 60's from St Lucia and they are very good friends. I knew FH as a young boy but we didn't really speak to each other. As I got to my 20's, I was in a long term relationship with my boyfriend at the time and seven years later, I realised that we were never going to get married. He wasn't really into the whole marriage and kids thing. To top it all off, his mother passed away and he could not cope. He wasn't able to be in a relationship and after several months of trying to be there for him, I left the relationship feeling devastated that I couldn't make it work.
As my mum is in St Lucia, I went to see FH's mum and used to regularly cry on her shoulder about the state of my relationship. She would often say that the right man was round the corner (little did she know it would be her own son!!) One day, she re-introduced me to my FH and after texting each other for a while, we started calling each other for 6 hours at a time (remember what it was like at high school girls!!) We went out on our first date to the cinema - I looked at him and thought he was cute, but didn't know if he was feeling me. We went on a second date the next day and a third day the day after that. After the third date, he told me that I was the sort of girl he could fall in love with .....and we've been inseparable ever since!
Well ladies, to tell you the truth , I met my FH in a genltemens club where I use to work. Yes ladies I was on the stage just working it. No ladies, I was not one of the "those dancers" that had a pimp, a girlfriend , or did drugs. I was only there to take care of my business and my kids. I never really focused on any of the guys there because that was my own personal "code of conduct" that I went by.One night this fine light skinned brotha came in and it was a big commotion. The girls surrounded him and they were mesmerized by those light brown eyes. Of course I was the only one that did not pay him any attention and that caught his attention.Well, at the end of the night he gave me his number wrapped up in some money. So two months laters I decided to give the brotha a call. The main thing that really had me falling was him asking when can me, him and the kids get together. I went against everything I believed in and started dating him. Eventually I stopped working at the club and went to school to be a medical asstistant. Ok that was 10 years ago. After a few ups and downs we finally decided to get married. I believe that it was my faith in God that took me out of that situation at the club. He had bigger and better plans for me. He's not through with me yethttp://tickers.TickerFactory.com/ezt/d/4;10716;124/st/20080517/e/Our+Wedding/dt/11/k/e311/blk-event.png[/img]
Amen!"Atown", God has and will continue to work in your life. He has allowed you to move on to better things. Sit back and continue to watch God's awesome power as he has big things in store for you!
I met my FH in Atlantic City at the Showboat Casino. We were on seperate bus trips. It was pretty ironic that we were from the same city. He hit the jackpot that night and so did I!!! We were both lucky that night and 10 years later here we are!
I met my FH at a club here in Atlanta Oct '96. He did the tugging on the arm thing & when I turned to see him, I was like da**. Needless to say, we took pictures and exchanged phone numbers. He called me the next day and invited me over to watch the world series. Now I am no baseball fan, but it was the Yankees vs. Braves, the north vs. the south. I am from Oh and he from here (Ga) so it was a big deal for the majors. Anyhoo we hit it off from there and "the rest is history."
I met my FH downtown in an area we call five points. it was funny because i hardly ever go out, and the guy i was gonna have a casual date with called and cancelled. i was all dressed and had nowhere to go. so anyway, i called my cousin and asked if she wanted to go out so i wouldn't waste my new outfit. My FH is from tennessee and was in town just for a temporary job. He was walking in our direction and kindly stopped and asked "excuse me, do yall know where the black people are around here?" we died laughing. So we took him around the area and showed him were all the black people hung out, but i'm the only black person he's been hanging out with ever since!!
I met my FH in 1998 when i was still in highschool, and i met him in MIRC in a chatroom. we were chatting, and purely stated ourselves as friends. and then we started to call each others, sent tons of emails, letters, gifts, and nobody knows when the friendship changed into love relationship. i met him face-to-face (he came to my country) for the first time in 2003, continued the cyber love, and in 2005 we got engaged. :)
I love reading stories like these. Somebody knew her FH from when she was four?! How sweet! I'll have to click on everyone's links after I tell my story.
I met my guy in college back in 98' at an art class. We went on a few dates, but nothing serious because I just wasn't looking for a relationship with the hectic schedule I had back then. I don't think I took the time to enjoy myself in college at all. I can't remember much of anything during my college years.
Anyway, he transferred to another college around 00' and we went our separate ways. Then we ran into each other at the Dallas Museum of Art around Thanksgiving of 03'. He recognize my name and face right away and brought up all kinds of things that he remembered about me but I'd forgotten. I felt so bad, but we walked around the museum and caught up for an hour. I started to remember a few things. We went out on more dates, became more and more closer and the rest is history! I wish that we could get married at that museum, but the costs are a bit steep. We still go there every month whenever a jazz band is playing.
What's really messed up is that a week ago, we ran into the art teacher whose class we met in ten years ago at a mall and I was able to recognize him right away! His health was declining and he was walking with the help of his son and a walker, but it was him. It was a nice little ten year reunion between us. :)

It's hilarious how in sync our dates are in our stories.
FH and I actually went to high school together but never acknowledged the other, maybe b/c he was a senior and i was a freshman. It wasn't until 10/05 that we actually "officially" met. He was friends with my brother and they were hanging out. I popped up and we recognized one another from school and the rest is history.
First met FH in 1998 when I dated his colleague & roomie for about 2 months. After that FH & I kept infrequent contact until 2001 when we decided to take things to another level when he broke up with his girlfriend. The relationship lasted about a year simply because I felt that he was way too busy for my liking. Three & a half years later we got back together again and everything has been sweet since...
It was Crazy. Our Families grew up together, always saying that they would never date the other's family. I knew everyone is his father's family except him, grew up tight with them and all, he was never around. I went to school all my life with his Godbrother, didnt talk much though. Just so happened his Godbrother married my best friend. We threw a going away party for my best friend's sister and the Godbrother came and brought some of his friends with him. we never spoke to each other that night but we took a group picture and i was standing next to him. after the party was over, for a month we were both asking my best friend and his godbrother for each other's numbers, they were being difficult. they finally gave in and gave us the numbers for each other, he called me (that was the first time we said anything to each other) and we hung out alone on a Sunday and watched movies all day. before the night was over he kissed me and I got chills and we have been hooked on each other ever since. He is the reason I believe in Love at First Sight.
I met my FH on eharmony. I was very skeptical about the whole thing but it really worked and I meet people all the time now that met on eharmony, match.com, etc.
We started communicating through email on March 2, 2007, met face to face on April 20, 2007, and were engaged on May 24, 2007. Then we saw each other one more time in June before he was deployed to Iraq. He came home in December 2007 for 18 days and the next time I will see him is in August 2008 (when I will have moved down to his duty station) and we'll marry in October, 2008.
Wow Mosaic! Talk about a real Whirlwind romance...Most people ONLY WISH they could be swept off their feet like you have:)
Its funny...the day you met you FH on eharmony, was the day before my wedding day-cause I got married on 3/3/07:)
We met waaay back in March of 1999. I was just coming back from my 1st Spring break as a collage student....he and a mutual friend of my roomates and his cousin had just traveled back from their hometown that day from Spring Break....they were challenging my roomates to a game of Spades....My friend and I, just coming off the road came home and found them (Him and his buddies) just chillin on our sofa in a our living room....Anyhoo, long story short, we became friends, and lovers within a month, and by May 1st we's made it official-Plus I was in the middle of a breakup right before we'd met-....On our first date, he asked me "When am I going to take HIM out on a date?" And I was like what? But of course I was feeling him, so we went out maybe a few weeks after we'd met. But we moved pretty fast initially, but he went home for the summer, which gave us time to cool off, write letters, and get to know each other better. And the rest is history!
My husband and I meet while working together. We were always cordial to each other but there was no love at first sight. I thought he was a nerd and he thought I was

Well I met my FH in December of 99 at Winn Dixie I was working the register and came in to get some juice and nasty burritos, I felt someone looking at me and it was him and I gave him that look like you better keep it moving and he just about ran into the door because he was starring at me so hard, so he gave one on the bag boys outside his number to give to me and I called him and we made it official in Feb of 2000 he asked me to be
Ladies, since we have so many new sistah's I thought we should revisit some of the oldie but goody topics and have the new sistahs give us their info! :)
I meet my FH in 1999. My maid of honor (best friend) was dating his friend and she introduced us. We talked the whole way home that day and before he got off the train he asked me for my number. I was only 15 and I wasn't used to giving my number out but I did anyway and I ended up writing my full name and I gave him my house number and my grandparent's house number.LOL The funny part of it all is that is still has the little green piece of paper that I wrote it on. After that day we stayed up all night on the phone talking to each other.
I met my FI in HighSchool in 2002 on my 16th Birthday. It was at a Basketball game at my school I was a cheerleader and FI was a BBall player from our rilvary school. After the game he just kept calling my name but my friends and I ignored him a kept walking. By the time we got to my friend car FI and his friends were there waiting. At first I wasnt very intrested because of the school he came from and because of his BBall immature friends so I didnt give him my number, But i did invite him to my bday party. So he came to my bday party and we talked and danced all night he was soooooo sweet and then he even brought me a really pretty nameplate necklace for my bday..So the night of my Bday party I gave him my number and we have been together ever since.
I met my DH in 1986 when i was 14 he was 17 he was chasing his sister around the backyard with those little white pop things you throw on the ground and they pop when they hit the ground. i was reading a harlinquin romance novel and i heard him tell his sister umm i want her and that summer we were inseparable until i moved away but my aunt still lived on next door to him i resurfaced again at 16 we tried again off and on until he was ready for what i wanted and here we are 2008 renewing our marriage vows this year.
I met my FH when I started my sophomore year in HS. I just started this going to this school where the ratio of guys to girls was 16:1 (BIG SMILE- that was one of the main reasons I wanted to go there...lol)
So one day I was on my way back to homeroom and he stops me in the hall and introduces himself and said that he had seen me around school and wanted to have the opportunity to talk to me. So we briefly chatted and he hands me a folded up note to read and respond (DANG...remember those days of passing notes?!....LOL) So I can't recall what exactly he wrote but he was basically saying he thought I was pretty and he wanted to have the chance to get to know me and hang out and see where it went. Later on I found out he was checking for me HARD asking people if they knew my name if we had mutual friends that had classes with me so he could find out more about me...yeah, homeboy was sprung....LMAO So I responded to the note and gave it back to him and we started dating. Needless to say 8 months later a mutual jealous friend (one of his boys) concocted a scheme to break us up. So his boy walks up to me on my way to lunch and says that my boyfriend wanted to break up. I asked why and he was like well he said he just don't want to be with you anymore. Being a little naive I got upset and told him to tell my now EX-BOYFRIEND what he can do to himself....lol. I took off the the double hearted ring he gave me and that was that.
So a year later he graduates and starts college at Howard and back then I was online like ALL the time and had posted a picture of myself in one of the communities I frequented. Lo and behold, while taking an R&R at his uncles friends house, they were just going through some of the pictures and happen to come across mine. So he writes me an email and we talked by phone until he had time to come home and visit. So we were cool- attraction off the charts but stayed as friends. So he gets an internship in the west coast and we lose touch again. So several years ago I was just doing what I do and for whatever reason I started thinking about him- almost concerned (I'm very intuitive) and tore up the house to look for his parents address to write a letter. I write the letter and mail it off. Three weeks rolled by and then I get a voicemail and it's him! We talk for like 2-3 hours and he tried to coax me to hang out that night but I had work the next day. So we hooked up after I got off from work the next day and hung out and the sparks was flying....lol. By the next night we knew that we were going to hook up and have been together ever since.

Born Blessed!

Either I will Find a way, or I will MAKE a way!!!

Striving for better than my Best!!!

We've been Happily Married 2 Years and Counting:)

My husband and I meet while working together. We were always cordial to each other but there was no love at first sight. I thought he was a nerd and he thought I was

Well I met my FH in December of 99 at Winn Dixie I was working the register and came in to get some juice and nasty burritos, I felt someone looking at me and it was him and I gave him that look like you better keep it moving and he just about ran into the door because he was starring at me so hard, so he gave one on the bag boys outside his number to give to me and I called him and we made it official in Feb of 2000 he asked me to be
**BUMPING**

Wow Pebbles, you two were just destined for each other!!!
