Re: Eloping???

EVERY single bride , but mostly the groom, talks about eloping within the first few months of planning it. I have an article here oneloping that you may want to look at if that is where your head is.

My opinion. DO NOT ELOPE. You will have regrets about it. Most women dream about their wedding day as early as five years old. Plan the wedding you want. It doesn't have to be a $200,000 event. Just make sure your friends and family are present and you get to wear the dress.

Re: Eloping???

I dont think just because you sent out the save the date that you have to stick to it. There are alot of things/situations that come up and people have to change the date of their wedding. There are people here that have had to push back there dates three or four times. You can go elope and then send them a announcement saying that you are now married if thats what you really want to do. I know people will have wanted to go to your wedding and witness your special day but if its better for you then go for it. Wedding planning is stressful and if you dont have time for it then so be it,do whats best for you and your FH not what eveybody else wants to do. Also a idea is to elope and then plan a family ceramony together with the guest later. You could have a wedding or reception on the date you picked after eloping to celebrate with everyone.

Re: Eloping???

My first marriage was a quick trip to the courthouse.Afterwards, I felt like I cheated myself out of the wedding of my dreams. This time, with a lot of planning and patience (along with a little stress and drama),I'll have my dream wedding. In the long run, the outcome will be well worth it.

Re: Eloping???

My FH was talking about eloping too. I wasn't having it! I took the advice of you ladies and went home and had a heart-to-heart with him. I also did some praying. I told FH that he would regret it also. He listened to my concerns and thought about it, we are back on with our 11/11/06 wedding. I am so glad about that.

I've been thinking about it as well. I 'm torn. I want the big wedding, but without te hassle.

MY advice.......elope, but have the formal reception on the date planned for your wedding

It is the CEREMONY that maters the most. Your relationship to God and your family and friends. That commitment to your future husband is why you have the celebration after. Your reception isn't the showstopper part of your marriage ceremony.
