How Many Guests?

We initially set a limit of 200 people. It was impossible to do anything smaller than that because we both have big families. We gave ourselves 100 guest each. Well, that number was set before the actual guest list was written. Last week, I sent out 150 invitations. The guest list has 252 people. I am so wishing that 50 people decline.

Bossy I can not remember when your wedding is again??? but girl more than likely more than 50 people will decline...so relax!

We have set the number at 175 (min. requirement) but it seems that more than likely it will be more than that.

Bossie, you are funny!!! Being that you haven't received one decline yet, hope that they come closer to your deadline. lol

My date is June 9, 2006. I hope you are right Charley. I just mailed the invitations this past monday. As of today, I have received back 30 accepts. Not 1 decline yet.

I know I'm not passing on free eats, oh yeah, and the wedding too! LOL!!
You'd be surprised how many people put it in that order.

We are saying 300 but we have not sat down and actually did our final list yet? Heck, our bridal party takes up about 34. As i stated in an earlier post, my FH thinks he needs to invite everyone he has ever known.

We're having approx. 130, I refuse to go over 144! (if I do, the dance floor would start to shrink! I originally wanted no more than 100. My FH has a bigger family than me :-( So I guess I have to deal with that.

Depending on where we have our wedding we will have between 50 and 100 guest. I was originally planning for 100 guest at both the wedding and reception.Most of the people will be FH family since he has a bigger family than me and most of my family live in Texas and his are here in Cali.Well thats if his familt decides our wedding is important enough for them to attend.....they have issues.

Ladies the more I think about it I want to decrease our proposed number of guest. How can I break it to FH because he's so set on 300 people or more? He doesn't get how expensive that is and how most will be there to be nosey.

We've done that! We are having a dinner buffet which can range from $12.50 to 18.50 a plate. I had him to agree on one entree instead of 2 which will be $12.50 a plate but he said he still wants 300+ people and he'd give my parents some money to help pay the cost. I just want less people. He'll say things like, so and so will probably bring his wife and 3 kids. I'm like no we can't be feeding everyone and their family. Now you see what I'm dealing with!

Hi everyone, I almost feel out of place since I haven't been on board in a while. Our guest list is 300 for the reception. My side of the family is the biggest. His list is only about 60 so far and I think I'm stretching that. I'm in the south now taking care of wedding business. I'm getting my wedding portrait done this week while I'm here. Won't be back down here until July 1. Gettin things done while I can. Nlbostic, I guess this is it uh. You just gotta wait and see. PB&J, where are you located? That is an excellent price for a buffet!! What type of place are you having your reception at?

Hi Septbride! I'm down south. My reception will be on an army base in Georgia at the officer's club. We like the idea of having it there because at least there are no taxes and the rooms are beautiful. I would love to have two entrees but only if we cut the people a little.

So far,we're looking at atleast 200.But like PB&J,my FH wants to invite everyone he knows.So, that number may grow.He even mentioned sectioning off part of the parking lot so that our truck driver friends will have a place to park their trucks!

This one has got me in a corner.
