Stuffing Invitations/Wedding Stamps

Hi ladies, I just went through this. This is very time consuming. Thank God for my FH. Make sure there are at least two people working on this. The Wedding Stamps from the post office or usps.com should go on after the envelopes are addressed. Yes they have special wedding stamps. I'll be taking about 90 invitations to the post office and will hand cancel them personally tomorrow. I have an appointment at 9am. Yes I have an appointment. I read alot about wedding stuff and retained the information. To "hand cancel" means you stamp the date that's within the circle between the stamp and the left side of the envelope (where the return address usually is). This is neater. This way your invitations wouldn't have to go through the machine that leaves those lines through the stamp and the middle of the top part of the envelope. You have to go to your post office and let them know what you would like done and they'll tell you whether they'll do it. If they do it they'll tell you the best time to come in. Since I have so many the postman told me he'll make sure there's enough ink in the stamper so I can do it. It's time consuming. We laughed. Whatever you do don't just drop it in the mailbox. Who knows who may drop what in the mailbox that day. I still have more to send out but those would be for the local folks in the south and it's too early to send theirs. Give yourself enough time. Good luck.

I used the photo stamps on my relpy card envelope. I didn't want to put it on the outside because our faces would be stamped on when our guest received the invite. You won't believe how many responses I received back in regular envelopes. They wanted to keep the stamp.
Also, I dropped my invitations in the mailbox, all 150 of them. Luckily they were just fine.

How many invitations did you send out, and how many responses have you gotten back so far?

We invited about 210 people. We sent out 150 invitations. We are only expecting about 175-180 positive responses. As of yesterday, we have received 107 accepts. The deadline is May 12th

Re: Stuffing Invitations/Wedding Stamps

Hi yall, my appointment at the post office went well. 9am was a good time. Only one other person was in there. I hand canceled all the envelopes like I explained and when I gave them to the postman he said "Oh I forgot to tell you you have to hand cancel over the stamp" Okay, I told him no problem as long as it doesn't have to go through the machine. I hand canceled over the stamp. Better to have a neat circle over the stamp than all those lines. Don't forget to send one to yourself. When you get yours you know your guests most likely received theirs.

Since I live in Jersey and mailed them from Jersey I received mine the next day. Only what I stamped was on the envelope yeaaah. Today I received two calls while I was at work from people in Jersey who received theirs and they were complimentary about the invitations.

nbolistic, you're on your way. I wonder who'll be my first responder?

God is good all the time and all the time God is good

Good for you Marshine! I'm glad that you were able to get those taken care of, and even more grateful that you thought about your ViBride sistas in the process.
