Bridal Shower vs. Bachlorette Party

All of the showers I have been to, the bridal shower and bach party were all in one. Since I have been talking to other brides, I realized that some people do them as two different events. What are you ladies doing?

My MOH's and BM's decided to find a place to rent that we can have all day. The first half will be the shower, where we play games and stuff. The second half will be the party, where we drink, have the stripper, etc... This way, my elderly and conservative guests can celebrate with me, but they don't have to witness the "raunchy" part.

My only concern is when do I open the gifts? I want to open them during the "shower" part so my conservative guests can see my gifts, but I know all of my gifts won't be conservative (if you know what I mean). I would hate for my grandmother to see me open some lube or something. Any suggestions?

Re: Bridal Shower vs. Bachlorette Party

Good question!!! My shower and bachelorette party was 3 weeks agao. The shower was at a rented facility from 2-6pm and my bachelorette party was from 8-until in my aunts basement. What my bridal party did was send bridal shower invitations to everybody and put a special note inside to those who were invited to the "after party". Normally, you wouldn't get gifts at the bachelorette party because those same guests would have already given you a gift at the shower. Open up all the gifts at the shower. Most people, including the conservative guests know that you will get some kinky and freaky gifts.

I agree it will make so much more easier if you have them both - but I guess it only depends on family and friends - they may surprise you with both at different times....or they may shock you and come together and have a huge splash!!!...the ball is in their court at this point.

Charlotte wishes you all a beautiful Christmas filled with loads of love, laughter and the true meaning of this blessed season.

I've been here. Atleast once a day. Sometimes no posting, just seeing what's going on, but I'm here.
This wedding is so close, I can't believe it. Everything is done, but I want everything to be perfect so I keep going over every little detail when I should just be relaxing these last 3 weeks.

Congratulations Bossie....your right to go over everything, sometimes we tend to forget the little things and sometimes those little things are so important.

So check your list and check it twice....one or two of those things may not have been nice :-)

Charlotte wishes you all a beautiful Christmas filled with loads of love, laughter and the true meaning of this blessed season.

My FH and I are have a coed shower. We just bought a home and at this shower will be mostly family and the bridal party. We're gonna have a barbecue.Later, we will have separate showers. I want to have a pleasure party. Our coed shower invite reads like this:

Before Tonya and Michael walk down the aisle
Let's shower them with gifts for their home to
start their new life style

Re: Bridal Shower vs. Bachlorette Party

Yeah, the worst thing you can do is tell a bride smething and get her all upset. Keep it to yourself. I was in my cousin's wedding a few weeks ago and her photographer didn't show up until the 3:00 when the wedding started. We were at the church scheduled to take pictures at 1:00. My other cousin(the bride's sister) called her in the limo to tell her that the photographer had not shown up. We blasted her and told her that you never tell a bride that anything is wrong on her wedding day. The crazy thing was that the photographer was her cousin and her father owns the business(of course he couldn't do it because he escorted her).

The lesson "Never hire a relative" (unless you know that you can trust them)
