Do what you have to do Rhonda. I told them, they have to order their dresses soon because it'll take 3-4 months before they come in. We're 5 months until the wedding. I had to get my BMs out of bed & took them to the shop first thing Saturday morning. Good thing I don't have a huge party, or i'd be freaking out.

Girl I have approx. 4 months until the wedding. They have had the information for the dresses since September 2005. This is truly ridiculous. I gave them a reminder in January, April and now we are in July. I will be picking up my dress and my daughter's dress soon and if they don't have their dresses. Then the show will go on. I am so stressed over this.

FutureMsLee, bridal party consists of my sister, two best friends, my neice, a childhood friend and my daughter. None of them have their dresses!!!!! I hope your ladies don't do that to you either, to tell you the truth, I am sooooooooooo shocked! I didn't expect them to be slowing around like this.

So you mean to tell me that even with them knowing how long it takes to get them back, then do alterations, AND the cost to rush them if they need them fast and they STILL are dragging their feet? No ma'am....Go to God and ask what you should do...Ask yourself how you would feel if these "dragging BM's" were not part of your wedding. Whatever your answer...you should get some peace of mind....maybe you need to call a meeting and ask them SPECIFICALLY what could be keeping them from getting the money in a timely manner. Find out if anyone has money problems and let them know that you will not be offended if they feel like they can't participate because you understand that money doesn't grow on tress, and maybe there is another way they can help out...read a poem, pass out programs or usher or something....Re-iterate the deadlines and give them some ultimatums...if you are not firm and don't put your foot down, you will be stressed...I mean really, enough is enough.

All you can do is pray and be still and know that he is God. Everything has already been worked out. My cousin who is maid of honor has help me out a great deal trying to get my bridesmaids in order. Trust and believe I have called them Heffas and everything else.Lord forgive me. But just keep your head up and put your foot down.
Daughter Rhonda I understand your pain. The 1st time I got married I had the same nightmare. This time around We started planning 2 years ahead of time. I met with my girls in July of 05 and advsd them the date was 07-07-07. I also gave anyone the opportunity to drop out with no hard feelings. At that time, i bought everyone just a small token of my appreciation, inexpensive scented candles, bath beads, lotion and the most important thing, A PLANNER for the next 2 years. We sat down right then a made a date for July 7th, 2006. the 1 year away mark and i advsd them to be prepared to PAY and order dresses. Sent out a reminder 1 month b4 the date and d*** if i did not still have problems with a few! Eventually everyone got their dresses ordered in the same week but why the drama? Tell me if I did not give enough notice. I had everyone get a size bigger because as I reminded them, dresses can be taken in not out. I know that I am compulsive, I am working on it, but the plus side is hopefully there will be little last minute stress

Bumble, only two of my bridesmaids informed me of money concerns. One is in the middle of closing on a house. However, she knew because she went with me when I ordered my gown. They received the information back in September 2005 and still didn't take the initiative. One of the other bridesmaids is not working and is a single parent with two children. I understand her situation, and I am willing to be patient (to a certain degree) with her. The others have no excuse. I ordered my daughter's dress when I ordered my gown so she is taken care of. I told all of them that if they wanted to pull out that would be ok and they would still be welcomed as guests, with no hard feelings. I will be relieved once I know that they have ordered their dresses. I will also be relieved if they don't get their dresses ordered because then I will move on with Plan B. -- Having my daughter as my MOH!

Yes!!! One of the members of the bridal party called me with this nonsense, telling me she called the shop and left a message. I told her you can leave all the messages you want if you don't have your dress by the deadline, don't bother. She said she needed her boyfriend to drop her off because she doesn't know where she's going. (PLEEEEEEZE!!!!). She said a lot of other nonsense that is too trifling for me to mention, but it is what it is, I meant exactly what I said.
