Change in Time

Hello ladies. Since my ceremony/reception venues have changed, so has the time of day. I have purchased little "fish bowls" (engraved with our names and wedding date) which will be filled with marbles, water and floating candles. My question is, now my reception is scheduled to begin at 12:30 in the afternoon as opposed to 6:00 in the evening. Can candle centerpieces be used for an afternoon reception? I don't want to invest more money in buying new centerpieces.

Sure you can. I have two ideas:
1. set up your centerpieces as planned & don't light the candles, just let them float.
2. set up your centerpieces as planned & light the candles and dim the lights (if possible) to create that romantic ambiance.

I'm a married woman as of December 2, 2006.

Great ideas Cinny! Lighting candles in the daytime will create a whole new magic. I do it all the time. Tea candles at my brunch tables for instance. It always goes over HUGE! I love the engraved fish bowls. You have the coolest ideas! I can't wait to see pics of your wedding!

Thank you ladies. Cinny I will certainly use your idea. I am even more happier that I don't have to go out and buy new centerpieces! This is great.

Re: Change in Time

Roni, I would you say you HAVE to dim the lights. If the lights are bright, you won't get the full effect of the candles like you want.

Also, does your site have alot of windows? If so, are they covered with curtains or blinds? I am only asking because, in my honest opinion, if there is alot of sunglight coming in the room, you still won't get the full effect of the candles. Just something to think about.

Thank you B2B, the site actually does have a lot of windows, which are covered with curtains. I'm going to pay them another visit, just to see how I can pull this off. That is definitely something to think about. Thanks.
