Has anyone decided on a particular design? I am defintely going with publix who said they'll do any design for no charge...they charge by the amount of cake....
I am having a hard time choosing a look for the cake other than stacked....our colors are tiffany box blue, white and silver.....any suggestions or pics will help.

I haven't decided on a design as yet. I was thinking about check out Walmart. I want to order my cake by next month, so I really need to get it together. So I would love to get some ideas too!

Are you going to use one of their designs or are you going to find one of your own? I am tempted to go and find one but I am not sure of the baker's ability to replicate it, so I don't want anything too complicated....but I still don't know. I have time though so I'm not sweating it.

From what I hear, Walmart has really nice cakes. Providing I find something I like, I will probably just use one of their designs, just to keep things simple. I also want one of those cup cake towers for the children at my reception.

Rhony, They are very reasonable!!!!!!!!!!!For a 3-tier cake it feeds 138 it only cost 138.00 and you can pick you the design. This is where my cake is coming from Walmart as everything you need from start to finish....ALWAYS.....LOL

Ladies I too had chosen a cake at Publix until I visited Sam's Club on Saturday with my mom. They had a 3 tier(they are huge) cake display and the cost is $12.97 per cake plus $16 if you want the stand. That is less than $100. Sam's is the same as Walmart. I instantly called my Sweetie and let him know that we would be cancelling the cake at Publix. I will be decorating with fresh flowers on the tier and using ivy and tulle to cover the styrofoam platform stand. If you all haven't visited Sam's I suggest you do, this was truly a a blessing for me.

PB&J dont you need a club card for Sam's? If so how could those of us who dont have a membership card order a cake. That sounds like a good deal to me. Isn't Sam's just like Costco too?
Yes, Sam's is just like Cosco. It's actually a subsidiary of Walmart. You will need to have a card or know someone who is a member in order to get it. My mother is a member so I just go with her and will have her order it. Just wanted to share because it can save alot of money. My husband and I are not cake people and if we were we still wouldn't pay too much for cake.

Thank you ladies, you are all on point for saving money!

Southerngirl.....
Future you got a card? I really need to hit up Sams Club but I really dont need the card that bad. I know they sell mostly bulk items but its only me and FH that I have to feed. If I bought 1 item from there it would fill up my freezer...lol.But If I cant find anyone with a card I guess I will have to get a membership.Last month at Walmart there were ladies standiog in front trying to sign people up for Sams Club, I should have took that offer.
Sorry for the late response! No, I don't think that they deliver. However, it shouldn't be hard to transport yur cake because they put each layer in a container and you can purchase the 3-tier stand for it to go on. We will have my mother pick it up and take it to the reception site do so that my planner can decorate it and the cake table. As for the card, I plan to get one because they have really great deals on things that you purchase at Walmart or the grocery store and pay alot for. My husband uses Lever 2000 and we usually by 4 bars at Walmart for like $6 well at Sam's you can get 16 bars for like $8. I even bought huge pkgs tilapia, shrimp, turkey mignon and only paid $29.

I live alone, but I still have a Sam's card...its good for buying water and meat in bulk, or if you are traveling....Plus its only 30.00 and you can put 2 people on it (In FL).
With delivery you must be soooo very careful...Its good to have a secure plan in place if you're handling the delivery yourself (i.e not professionals)....Also, make sure the place you get it from is not more than about 10 minutes from the spot so you won't have to worry so much about traffic (get an alternative route in mind just in case) and make sure the care has working AC so you don't have to wrry about the heat (especially so in FL)....At our hotel visit we saw a leaning cake b/c the couple ordered it from a Publix that was too far (they were from out of town like us-but planned 3 weeks before)....then it was hot and they didn't have pillars:(

no sams club card but i have a costco card. costco gas has got it goin on right now. On the streets im paying 3.17 for the CHEAPEST! costco was at least 3.10 - hahaha... so sad that 3.10 is considered cheap gas. I think im going to cry.

ROTFLMAO at future, girl you are too much! I think the cheapest gas I've seen in my area recently is $3.20. I had to stop going to the gas station with FH becasue the prices are too much. Since I dont drive I get mad that its that high, I will get on a bus in a hot minute to get where I need to go.

I had a Sam's Card but I let it expire.:( I need to get another one, along with a BJ's, and a Costco card.

Since I am getting more and more offers to keep kids I guess I have to plan on at least taking my drivers test so I can pick the kids up from school without them having to take the bus.......but the bus is so accessable to everywhere I normally go. Plus I can pay $3 for a day pass and ride from 3am -12am. Anything after that I dont need anyway. It beats the heck out of paying $3+ for 1 gallon of gas.

Although I have not yet picked a wedding cake out. I read that if you are having a big wedding it would be better to have a square cake instead of a round cake because more people can eat from it.

I am also doing Tiffany blue box, silver and white. I ran thru a few pictures that I have found on the web. I still haven't found the right one yet. Also, I can't seem to find a suit for my fiance'. Anybody with idea let me know.
Welcome to the site, Tiffany! I'm sure some of the ladies on this site can help.
