Hey everyone. Im new to this site and I just wanted to gain some insight. I'm recently engaged and our wedding date is set for August 17, 2007. I need help with everything. I've never even attended a wedding before so I really don't know what to expect. I am from the bronx and would like to have the wedding and reception in harlem. Does anyone have any ideas as to where I can find a good reception site for a reasonable price? Does anyone have any place you know of where i can purchase my dress? wedding cake? HELP ME PLEASE :-) This all so new to me. I'm so excited.

welcome kariba. This is your lucky day...Phenomonique has a bridal shop in the Bronx where you can purchase your wedding gown. Rhony is a jerseyan now, but originally from NY, she and phenomonique may be able to suggest some reception sites for you. Don't worry, you are in the right place to get all of your questions answered. And what we don't know, somebody will find out. Best of luck to you.

Hi Kariba, I was told (don't know how true it is) that the Harlem State office building on 125th Street has rooms available for renting. A friend of my said she attended a wedding reception there about 3 weeks ago. She said it was awesome. Perhaps you could call 311 or go there personally to inquire. Good luck.
