Why FH is in Time Out

I was originally going to title this thing "Why He Get On My D*mn Nerves!" But decided to tone it down a lil bit. Fh's sense of humor when I didn't feel like being humorous is going to get him in trouble. So this is what happened y'all:

This all happened last nite

1st Conversation:
Mr. Lee: I'm thinking about getting a navigation system in my car
Me: You don't go anywhere outside of LA why do you need a navigation system?
Mr. Lee: Don't you think its cool?
Me: No. I don't think I'm going to feel like baking a cake for the wedding.
Mr. Lee: How much is a cake going to cost us then?
Me: I don't know couple hundred bucks?
Mr. Lee: So is the cake going to cost me my navigation system?
Me: You don't even need a damn navigation system!
Mr. Lee: So I can't get my navigation system because you're being too lazy to bake the wedding cake?

2nd Conversation:
Me: Hey dude, are we going to Seoul Jung (his fav. korean restaurant) cater part of the reception?
Mr. Lee: Hell No, We're going to take the grill to Malibu and I'm going to Q for the reception.
Me: You will not be grilling and smelling like charcoal on our wedding day!
Mr. Lee: Why not?
Me: Because if you smell like Charcoal I'll be turned off and you won't get none on your wedding night.
Mr. Lee: oh. well then yeah see if Seoul Jung will cater.

3rd Conversation:
Me: Baby, can you look at those suits online and tell me what you think?
Mr. Lee: Yeah, I'll do that right now.
Me: Thank you, you're great. *kiss*
(an hour later, Mr. Lee is still in front of the computer)
Me: Excuse me sir, are you still looking at the suits?
Mr. Lee: No.
Me: weeeellll... whatcha doin?
Mr. Lee: Looking at accessories for my car.
Me: have you even looked at the suits?
Mr. Lee: I was distracted by the car accessories. They were calling me.
Me: I could have sworn our wedding was more important than your car.
Mr. Lee: somebody done told you wrong.
Me: You are so unfunny

Sometimes I have to give him his ring back. Then they want to fly into a tantrum about it. My man is still crying cuz we are not going to Vegas. I do not want a theme wedding? I really wish I had done the Vegas thing sometimes though.

LOL, I would said something like "YOUR MAMA". I feel your pain. One day my FH is like how is the planning coming along. Three days later itis I thought we were doing this together. He has change the colors three times now and still refuse to set a date. At this point I am like I don't even really want a wedding anymore. I can just go to the JOP and call it a day.......thanks for the comedy I really needed that!

I don't know what all the big hoopla is about. To me, it sounds like he was only joking (you know your man better than me). I really wouldn't have gotten upset over that. You have to have some humor in the relationship.

Sheawill I have a question. Why is your FH refusing to set a date? If I remember correctly you said you will be setting a date in January, is that correct?

Re: Why FH is in Time Out

Sheawill I went through the same thing with my FH not wanting to set a date. He will come around just give him a little time. We got engaged in September and didnt set a date until like January. But for my FH reality hit him that dang I just commited to marry this girl....and he was only 22 at the time. But now he's all happy go luck recently. He asks me what you ladies say about post I've made.He just havent kicked in the planning mode yet.

Future How old id your FH? He sounds lke every typical man here in Cali from 16-35. My roommate is a big time car fanatic. He would rather spend money on his car than the rent (But not living with me that sh!t aint gonna fly).I am so happy my FH aint like that. I think I woulda popped him upside his head for every smart thing he had to say. It sounds a little sarcastic and funny but there's a time and place for everything. If he knew you werent in the mood then that wasnt the time. And tell brotha man I SAID YOU AINT MAKING NO DAMN WEDDING CAKE....lol That is too much damn work, leave it to the professionals. He can get his useless navigatons system AFTER the wedding. AND PLEASE DO NOT LET THAT MAN BAR B QUE ! Girl when my FH light up the gril I stay away from him. Nobody wants to smell bar b que on they man, it will be all soaked in his skin.......ughhhhh Ok I wanted to write that yesterday but FH had other plans.....

Yes he said Jan. I think I am just being impatient(spelling). He is really trying to get under my skin he claims this his way of showing me he misses me. I want to get an idea if it is going to be a fall/winter of spring/summer wedding. It is hard trying to plan something when you have no idea what time of year to plan for.

Sheawill, tell him, no date to plan for = no wedding day = no wedding night = unhappy woman = all H#!! gonna break lose!

But for real....no one wants to be a pushover, but maybe you can suggest your anniverary day (or closest to it), or another special day or your guy's favorite holiday to do the wedding....the hardest part of planning is getting started! The day seems so far away so you can't get the guys to dig into the planning process....

I would just chill out for now, and just get one of thos wedding notebooks from the bookstore and grab a couple of wedding magazines and start tearing out dresses or favors, or whatever you see you like, or want to replicate just to get started (if u haven't already)....keep him up to date for now on your ideas for colors. When doing your budget, do your research on the prices for stuff, and drop tidbits of info about how much stuff costs and how you need his input on the total budget....ask him his opinion about a potential date, and all aspects you need his advice for.....Good luck....

OMG!!! MsLee...I sooo needed that laugh! As payback, get a replica navigation system (cut out a picture) & scotch tape it to his dashboard. When he discovers it..just laugh it off!! Gotta have fun w/it. Last laugh will always be on us.
