Wedding Bands

What kind of bands have you ladies decided on? FH and I have decided on bands that will have our vows engraved inside. Actually I learned about this website right here on Vibride. Here are our rings. We have chosen the fifth one down -- the polished milgrain band. Wedding Band Website. My fiance is not a jewelry person and insists that he and I have the same wedding band. I don't really care one way or the other.

he has his moments. sometimes he is plain. Then other times he is mr. flashy. I think I created that monster. because it all started with a phone, some shoes and a watch that I gave him. So I'm going to say that since he has a tendency to be a bit bragadocious at times, he'd like the diamonds.

Re: Wedding Bands

Rhony those look good. I wish my fiance was a plain guy....jewelry on men is common in his family so you know he wanted the band with the 3 half carat diamonds! I'm just glad it was on a mega sale, and it will be paid for by January before the interest kicks in!
Its a white gold band with little yellow gold brackets and the 3 diamonds in between....its not too flashy, but its not plain at all!
My ring is just as fancy, and he already told me he can't wait for me to see my matching band!
Its not on the company's website because each store is individualized in its inventory, but if I scan it I'll post it.
I will tell you that both our rings are GIA certified and insured in case the stones fall out! Its extra but its worth it!

MsLee, whatever you do let him choose something within your budget. One young lady on this site said her FH didn't like his ring, and she couldn't take it back....men are often not big on surprises, and rather get something they want.....drag his butt in the store and ya'll decide together like rhony did!

Re: Wedding Bands

Excellent advice Bumble. My fiance is definitely not big on surprises. He isn't a jewelry person either. The only jewelry he wears is his watch. Last year I gave him a $500 gold bracelet and it sits in the box I gave him on his dresser. I wansn't going to take any chances with our rings. We chose our bands together. Choosing them together is really special and there is not a chance of anyone resenting anything later.

Re: Wedding Bands

I remember those rings Rhony! I was looking at getting some for FH and I and putting a special poem inside, but recently he saw something he likes elsewhere so its still up for an option.

Ladies whateva you do let yo man pick his ring! You dont want that man to be walking around with no ring on or having an excuse to loose it so he can get another one. Me and FH are getting simular rings we will be picking together. He wants something that has an engagement ring and matching bands for him and I (I'M going to have 2 sets of rings becasue the Original ring came with a band and I wear both becasue FH wants it that way) Since he didnt like the mens band to my ring he wants new rings. I'm all for it becasue I get more jewlery...lol

I always thought FH was a simple guy but recently, when talking about rings and other jewlery, he's been on the flashy side. He wants diamonds in his ring! I recently bought him a watch for work becasue one I bought before the glass broke as he was moving bags from his bus. He wont even wear it (the new one) to work because its too nice, so he got a $10 watch from Walmart he wears. I'm glad he protects his nice things but I told him I dont want to hear that excuse for his ring being off.

Yeeeaaah, I remember her. I told her to sell it on ebay if she can't exchange it, I wonder what happened to her. lol... this fool is NOT going to the store, he is going to sit his silly a$$ in front of a computer and browse them. He claims he doesn't like the sales people @ jewelry stores. My dads girlfriend works @ Daniels Jewelry store and has said she will give us her managers discount, so he need to get it right.

Whatever you do, get all the paperwork on that puppy! And it needs to be GIA or ISI (I think ISI is right) certified or better. Truthfully the only thing better than those two are the tiffany & co diamonds and they are in a class by themselves....Trust me...me and FH went to a Tiffany and co store for a consultation and a little lesson on their rings....just for the fun of it, and none can compare (I suggest all diamond lovers visit and try some on)....but GIA and ISI certified diamonds are good quality too. Plus make sure he gets it insured so he can replace lost or missing stones at no cost....If I lost my ring right now I can go and file for a brand new one-the exact same one...you want that kind of security!

Anyhoo....he needs to go to the store!

giiiirl yes lawd, i like security! and I agree this fool need to go to a store. He is a procrastinator - I am not, which is why this fool need me - he will be right NEXT to the jewelry store and won't go in! If I wasn't for me & his mom (praise the lord for her) we wouldn't be as far as we are now (date, colors, location)

I would definitely recommend if you are getting diamonds to get them insured. My bands are plain. FH said we could upgrade them later. (I am getting some diamonds - I'm going to see if I could talk him into getting at least one in his band when we upgrade!)Security is the way to go!

Its funny that you talk about upgrades....All my friends who have been married 5+ years aren't even wearing their original wedding sets (at least the women aren't). They are actually wearing much fancier upgrades. I'm talking 1,2+ carats with all the trimmings.....something I am DEFINITELY looking for in the future! (Tiffany & Co, I coming!) My point: take it easy on the trimmings now so you can bling hard later.

Re: Wedding Bands

Since my FH is overseas it is impossible for us to pick something together. I have just been window shopping and taking pictures to send to him to get his opinion. I have made him sick at this point trying to pick what he likes. He has just turned it all over to me and swears he will wear it. He is actually going to buy a cheap ring to put on his finger now because he is tired of having to tell people he is married. In his culture and to his family we are considered married at this point in life.

Hi Mynia, does your FH have access to a computer. If so you can send him some websites and have him pick something. My FH is a teacher and he also works on the weekend teaching marching band and so what worked for us is looking on-line and finding something that we both agreed on.

Re: Wedding Bands

My engagement ring has 1& 1/2 carat diamonds and is a Princess cut.The wedding band is a half eternity band with 1/2 carat diamonds. It is a set and they do bling(I am so fussy with them). They are 18 carat yellow gold as I think that white gold which I love don't stand out on my complexion.FH has 14 carat white gold band with 4 diamonds across the middle.Diamond weight 1/2 carat. When I first got them each day I would look at them but that has worn off; I only look at them probably twice a month to make sure there are still there.

You are welcomed HouseWife. My FH is a teacher (high school)and he doesn't want to attract too much attention to his hands. He really doesn't wear any jewelry other than his watch. That is why we chose those rings -- also he wanted us to have matching bands. (He said we could update them in a few years).
