Save the date magnets

I'm planning on sending out Save The Date magnets in august to all my guest because they are all out of state
Now I dont want to spend to much money on these so I decided to DIY

Here's my idea please let me know if you think it will be cheesy

I want to buy Avery magnet paper and print my own cards( I can get a pack from walmart for $9 with 5 sheets) I have a really good photo printer and I'm really good at designing

This is what I came up with Please give me your honest your opinion so I know if I should go another route.

Not sure how to post picture yet let see if this work

these are amazing. You guys are such a beautiful couple. Those magnets are really really lovely.

Imma share a secret with y'all. BlackLove makes me cry. It is so beautiful and touching. With all of the day to day things we go through and all of the negative images of us in the media, it makes me feel soooo warm and overjoyed to see black people so deeply in love & making this commitment to each other.

I love you without knowing how, or when, or from where. I love you straightforwardly, without complexities or pride; so I love you because I know no other way. ~ Pablo Neruda

That is beautiful!! I have a friend who did her's that way, and they were gorgeous. I did save the date magnets as well, didn't make them myself though, and I can tell you people will rave about them for months. Before we did them, I didn't realize that the idea is so unique. Good luck!!

Rhonda it very simple and cute.
GIrl I'm always looking for a way to make extra cash ( being a stay at home mom and all) so if you know anyone that want me to make them something send them my way.. I will only charge for the time I spend designing it .. I will send them the design and they can print it out themselve, this will make it cheaper for them. If they want me to print them and send it to them it will cost more because they will have to pay for all the supplies ( magnet paper and ink)

Bklyn, all you need is a website and a domain name (for its email), some business cards, and the cost for becomeing incorperated....(a small investment) Try www.godaddy.com for the website and domain name. My baby brother is a graphic designer (though he was an artist growing up), 23, and he has already bought a car with his business...he is in grad school for communications but got his GD degree from FAMU....he does all his work from his Apple Laptop in his dorm....that big silver one. He just bought a Dell for other programs that won't work well on Apple. My point is he is a mobile office, has business cards and is incorperated...its just him and his girlfriend. If any new stuff comes out or if he needs some coding done, he buys the computer books, and goes to my fiance who writes computer programs..... In 3 years of existance his company now has clients in about 10 states.....If my baby brother can do it you can too.
It doesn't take much, just a small investment in your materials...Get yourself incorperated within your state with its own tax ID number so you can get going....You can do it girl! You have talent!
Pray on it too...this is NOT a coincidence.....

Re: Save the date magnets

One more thing bklyn, I have learned that the success of anyone's business is not if they are talented or if their products are worth the money, its actually in the ability to get your name out there without fear, and to have the courage and the faith to believe God will do it for you....Most of my brother's clients are Christian with private businesses and Churches wanting to get thier name out there, he does logos and websites, and we have been working on his clothing line already-something he started his sophomore year at FAMU...he got out there via word of mouth, and just being a warm and professional guy. Not being afraid to discuss how God has blessed you doesn't hurt either-it helps my business too because its not a gimmick...its the honest truth!....Because you want to do magnets, I bet you are going to do other kind of graphic design work....I will send you a note with my brother's website and company name.....I also know a business student (an Alpha) only 22, but his business is helping other people's business get off the ground-he was offered a money to get his PhD in economics but he won't do it.....I love telling people how they can do this and that and who they need to talk to.....

Hi Ladies, it's been a while since I've been on this site, but I'm back. I love the magnet idea! I've been wondering how to do my "Save The Date" notes...this is wonderful! I have a pretty decent picture of my honey and me. But don't have a good color printer. What else can I try?

Okay, I'll see what I can come up with on my own. Sam's Club does the "Save The Date" photos, but I really like the magnets. I'll play around with them this weekend and try to post for you all to see.

Where did you all get the little wedding countdown tickers at the bottom of your posts?

Mrs robins,

after you upload the picture on photobucket hit edit and you will see an option to reduce the size to make it smaller.
I will love to see your magnet too. I'm going to print mine up this weekend if I get a chance I really neeed to send mine out but I'm still waiting on a few addresses.

Hello Sistahs!
I have a friend that has offered to print my magnets for me (Praise God!) My question is, what type of paper do I need to purchase? I read where the magnet paper is at Walmart, but what is the actual name of what I need to get?

I bought the paper and did my magnets. I'm not crazy about them though (I think it's because of the paper). I want my magnets to come out shiny (like photo paper). The Avery Photo Magnet Paper makes it look like it was printed on regular paper.

Bklyn, what font did you use for the words? When I print, the writing looks small. But, if I increase it on the template, it's too big. Help. lol
