Wedding Concert

Just had to share. Hubby and I went to a wedding this past weekend. The venue was fabulous, and the food was equally matched. But, I think the couple invited us to a concert rather than a wedding. I was appalled by some of the things that went on. Please tell me if I am just acting boojie or not. #1-The groom paraded down the aisle to "Marry Me" by R Kelly. He wore shades and lip synced every word. He gave high five's to the guests, and posed for pictures. He never removed his shades until it was time to recite his vows. #2-The bridal party consisted of 26 people. #3-When it was time for the bride to recire her vows, she bust out laughing. #4-The groom danced with his mother to "Dear Mama" by Tupac and pointed at his mother when the song said "and even as a crack fiend Mama, you always was a black queen Mama"...and then....drum roll please...the bride changed out of her dress into a green slinky spaghetti strap dress and 4 inch stilettos and danced for her husband while he sat in the middle of the dance floor to "Cater to You" by Beyonce. Now I know I am the same one who made this suggestion on another post to someone (cant remember who) because their FH had broken his leg or something, but the dance was way to seductive. Kids were there, parents, grandparents. it was just bad. Then homegirl went and put her dress AND veil back on. it was hilarious. I told hubby "we got to see Beyonce, R Kelly and have good food"...LOL

Re: Wedding Concert

nlbostic, you cannot be a vibride and lie about peoples wedding (smile). I just don't believe that. So you want us to believe that this bride changed, dirty danced, then put her dress BACK on. Nah girl!! I can go with the shades and R. Kelly, and thats only because I went to a wedding back in March and the groom did the exact same thing with the shades and "Marry Me." Even a few of his groomsmen wore shades. And the whole time the groom kept rubbing his hands together. Even at the alter.

Re: Wedding Concert

I kid you not. If I didn't know better I would have said it was her twin sister that danced...LOL She came back out looking so sweet and innocent like..."what?, me? I didn't do anything....."

Re: Wedding Concert

That's hysterical!!! I can't stop laughing. How tacky!! I understand the saying "different strokes for different folks" but this takes the cake. If you think that you're looking at this from a boojie aspect, then I guess all of us ViBrides are boojie as well. I can't see any of us changing into some green crap w/stillettos & then "dropping it like it's hot" in front of elders & kids. What a hot mess....
Thanks for the laugh as this will definately be passed on.

BOSSIE, WE ARE ALL BOOJIE TOGETHER!!! I AM CRACKING UP AND TELLING PEOPLE GIRL. SHE COULD HAVE SAVED THE LAP DANCE FOR THE WEDDING NIGHT. SEE YOU JUST CAN'T BUY CLASS LADIES. MY FH HAS BEEN ASKING FOR A LAP DANCE FOR YEARS. AND I AM JUST NOT SECURE ENOUGH WITH ALL THE WEIGHT I'VE PUT ON TO GIVE HIM ONE. WELL I PROMISED HIM COME HELL OR HIGH WATER, HE IS GOING TO GET 1 ON OUR WEDDING NIGHT. HE WLD BE APPALLED IF I DID THAT IN FRONT OF EVERYONE ON OUR WEDDING DAY. AGAIN NO CLASS. AND IF I CALLED MY MAMA A CRACKFIEND IN FRONT OF ALL THOSE PEOPLE, EVEN IF SHE WAS ONE. SHE WLD HAVE KNOCKED THE SHIT OUT OF ME. EVEN ON MY WEDDING DAY.
OMG...imediately when I started reading your post, I said "Oh Ish!!" I was a little skeptical about posting this because I didn't want anyone who happened to know the couple to stumble upon it. Hubby would be so upset that I blasted his friend's wedding like this. Girl, you almost gave me a heart attack
Normally, I carry my camera everywhere. This time I decided to leave it since I didn't know either the bride or groom, I figured didn't really want their pictures because I probably would never do anything with them. How pissed I was once I got there. Lesson to be learned. I will never go ANYWHERE without my camera again.
