My wedding colors are black, white & silver. I chose these colors because I want an elegant, classy, and traditional wedding. I want everything at the reception to be white and silver but I am a trendy bride too, so I was thinking of very tall vases as centerpieces the kind that can hold limes, and lemons to add color. Is this still elegant and classy? Help!!!

I love the concept of using real fruit...especially, lemons! You are definitely on the right track with those centerpieces. That's going to look so hip, yet classy. Good choice!

I saw a picture of that same centerpiece and I thought it was very elegant and classy. On the table was one of those mini circle lights, on top of the light was a tall vase filled with water and lemons, and at the top of the centerpiece was exotic flowers. I believe they sell the little circle lights I was talking about in the vibride store. It is beautiful and a great way to keep the room smelling good. lol

Sorry I took so long to reply all my wedding is August 4, 2007. I just started planning, and I'm very happy I found this site. Hopefully I can pull it all together without turning into Bridezilla.

Nothing that will be taken care of by the reception hall( THANK GOD).
But for my bridal shower the centerpieces will be a vase with marbles at the bottom a tropical fish or two with flowers on the top.

Girl something cheap and elegant. You can get the marbles,vase,and the flowers from your a store like rags shop or from the dollar store. And fish should be about two for a dollar at your local pet store.

My reception site is taking care of the center pieces also. What a load off my mind. As far as the shower goes I have not even begun to think about one,let alone plan it. My date is Aug. 11, 07.

I wrestled for so long about what to do for a centerpiece. I wanted something elegant but not inexpensive. I finally figured out what to do. Walmart had very nice vases for $2.00 I bought tapers and rose vines. I also got ribbon that said With Love. I spiraled the ribbon around the taper and glued the taper to the bottom of the vase. i added marbles and surronded it with the roses. It looks awesome and was simple to do. In all it cost about $5 per centerpiece and I have the 2 demos on my mantle. Several people who come over have asked where I got it from. it was something diffrent from the usual pillar candle and was simple to do. Hey we have to save money somewhere.

LIITA i had the same idea but since my color scheme is more tropical, i'm using cut oranges and raspberries.
