To all the Vibriders..and Rosie...old and new..some I know..others I don't .....I have a special request. It has been a while since I have been a part of the circle...but I have a special request..my oldest sister had an emergency heart operation about three weeks ago and we are desperate for a miracle. I travelled to Michigan to be with my mother and my other sister as we continue to stand at her bedside and pray for the miraculous hand of God to be with her. She is inches away from being completely comatose and it is heart breaking to see her this way.So many machines...a team of thirty doctors and nurses. They are baffled that a woman so young could be in this predicament. She had an aortic dissection... a rip in her main cardiac vessel. One in 100,000 women are diagnosed from this...ending in death.
She was a successful and accomplished lawyer. Not only is she my sister, she is also my godmother, my mentor and my friend.
I know she can hear us, and sometimes she opens her eyes just wide enough to see who's there talking to her. When we lay hands on her and we pray, she sheds tears. I do not know how much more I can handle..holding up my mom and the rest of the family..and maintaining my pregnancy in all of this. I have started to dilate and my doctors are begging me to relax. My mother's youngest sister passed a few days ago and she is just falling to pieces. Please to all of you, I beg that you raise my family up in prayer. Where two or more are gathered in His name....please..if it is not His will to give her back I pray that she will not have to continue suffering like this. I am willing to let her go, if that is His divine will...it just hurts so much to witness the end of such a wonderful, beautiful life. I am broken in my spirit over this. I cannot eat. I cannot sleep. I feel like a zombie in my classes, and at work.
My sister's name is Maureen. I hope that everyone reads this today, and it is my desire that tomorrow at noon...if you can take 15 seconds and join me in prayer for her...that way we will send prayers all at the same time. Her favorite thing is a butterfly....she just loves them and no wonder..they transform into such majestic creatures.

Island, I can't imagine the pain that you and your family are in at this time. My heart and prayers go out to you all. I will definitely keep your sister, and family in my prayers as you all deal with these tragedies. Take care of yourself and my little niece. Update: as of Monday September 4th 2006
My mother called in a priest to bless and anoint her, and in the process of the anointing, my sister woke up, turned her head towards the hand of the priest and she began to cry. (she has not been able to do anything, especially move) She has since been taken off of the VENTILATOR which has been the soul source of her oxygen supply for the past month. It has been a successful eighteen hours of such progress. I look forward to the continuation of great reports to share with you.

Just another quick update....
My sister is now out of the ICU ward...and is resting peacefully in our Saviour's arms on the seventh floor...in a private room. We still do not see much interaction/responsiveness...but we pray for big things...and I know the desires of my heart and hers...and I know she wants to live. I pray for change...and for God's will to be performed. I still cry so much, I miss her like crazy, it is almost torture...when I start losing focus...I pray and when I want to hear her voice...I call her answering machine. This is so hard..I never imagined this...please....if you can squeeze an extra prayer in at night...please put the name of Maureen on your prayer agenda.
Sometimes I find myself fading away in grief...my obgyn suggests that I find a therapist to help me through this and to not allow this to affect baby girl in there... and all I can respond to that with...is...I have Jesus and I know HE sees everything.
I hope that everyone is doing well, and I think I have lost count on here with who's wedding is next etc...but please know that I am thinking and praying for you guys to be blessed on your special day.....CONGRATULATIONS to the ones that have goten hitched...

Hey there Island, thanks be to God for Maureen's progress! The fact that she is out of the ICU is truly a blessing! I honestly call your sister's name out in prayer when I pray at night and in the morning. I am touching and agreeing with you for her healing! She's on the 7th floor -- God's number seven the number of completion, wholeness -- she's is definitely on the road to recovery! Be encouraged, you are not alone my sister. Take care!

Island, blessings be unto you, Maureen and your entire family. god has brought her out of ICU and I know that he will continue to work his miracles. Just trust and believe that this is all in his plan and he doesn't make any mistakes. God is able to bring you a peace of mind about your sister so that you can focus on taking care of that little mama in your tummy. Let go and let God take care of Maureen. We love you and are praying fou and Maureen. Continue to update us when you get a chance. BTW, my date is in 17 days(Oct. 7th) and I think there's two more brides with close dates so please continue to keep us lifted up.

Just keep talking to her. It is amazing what lovely words and touches can do. My mother is enduring chemo and our visits inspire her to eat an entire meal when she had not an appetite all day. Even the staff is amazed.

Great advice! Play music to her too. The opera Carmen is supposed to heal and any thing Mozart as well. We use it when any of us is revovering in the hospital. Works wonders so far!

Again, thank you for all of your prayers, candles and wonderful intentions. Today is my sister's birthday. I received a phone call from my mother informing me that her kidneys have begun to decline, and are not functioning at this point.
I have prayed that God's will be done, and I ask that if it is not HIS divine plan for her to recover, I wish that she no longers suffers in between worlds. I love her so much, but in loving and respecting who I know she is, I know it it cruel to watch her deteriorate like this.
Thanks again, your undying support and sisterhood have kept me floating.
I did receive in my email something today that has touched my broken heart...I will share it here...
~A young man was at the end of his rope, seeing no way out, he dropped to his knees in prayers. "Lord I cannot go on", he said. "My cross is too heavy to bear".
The Lord replied: "My son, if you cannot bear its weight, just place your cross inside this room. Then open that other door...and pick out any cross you wish."
The man was filled with relief and said, "Thank you Lord". He did what he was told.
Upon entering the other room, he saw many crosses. Some so large that the tops were not visible. Then, he spotted a tiny cross leaning against the far wall.
"I'd like that one, Lord"...he whispered.
The Lord replied: "My son, that is the cross you just brought in."

My mom's B-day is Friday. She is still in intensive care. I have been grieving a lot lately myself. I find it hardest to accept that she may never meet my children. I agree with your stance. I believe in God's will and I pray that she recovers but if not I pray for the strength to cope. Best wishes.

I do have one last request. I cannot rest until I do all that I possibly, physically can. I know GOD is still in the miracle business...but whatever HIS plan is for her..at this time we cannot question it...we would like to make her comfortable, safe and happy. She is still only responsive to praise and worship songs...prayer and familiar voices...she only blinks still, and cries.

People are so doubtful...my other sister...has fallen prey to the enemy... she has lost all hope...and is saying things to my mom like "we need to start making preparations...she is on her way out". I lost it this weekend, because for the first time in weeks, the doctors are impressed with her vitals, and her progress with kidney output. Her complexion is rosey, and my mom said at times she seems to be almost trying to smile when the email messages and prayers are being read. I will never give up. Whether it is in God's plan for her to be healed, or if this has happened to her for her life to be a witness for a lost lamb...I will never stop praying and keeping my faith in His works. She is purposed to be where she is, for a reason. I thank every and any person who has walked with me on this journey...for having the faith to stand with me and the members of my family...as we continue to encourage her..and wait in expectancy.
for anyone else who does not know...my sister is in a non vegetative state of consciousness....she has sleep and wake patterns...and responds thru blinking, crying.
