I need help. I am trying to find a location to have my wedding & reception, I thought about having it a Apostolic Church the santuaries are fine, but as far as the reception I'm not sure. The wedding is September 2007.

September seems to be a popular month. Are you getting married the first week of septemeber where you can still do it outside, if not why dont you try local banquet halls or go to local hotels, such as Marriott, Hilton, Sheraton, etc....... and host your wedding reception there.

Also don't exclude Museums, they have beautiful banquet rooms, and often it is inexpensive. Good luck.

I am in the Chicago area and I am going for very basic so I looked at park districts in my area. I even found a little log cabin that I would love to use but my family is too big.

There is a place called The Hot House right downtown. I believe they are a non smoking venue but call them to be sure.

If you are willing to branch out to the burbs you expand your options. Have you thought about checking out a restaurant to see if they have options for rental? I was out at Walter Payton's Roundhouse in Aurora Sunday and there was a beautiful wedding going on in the gazebo they have in the open court in the middle of the building.
