12:30 pm ceremony

Anyone having an early morning ceremony like I am? If you are what kind of schedule have you arranged. One of my bridesmaid is so worried that she will be rushing to get her hair done that morning. The way I look at it there won't be any rushing if we start the day early enough. Any comments?

I didnt have an early morning ceremony, but my suggesstion would be to have your girls get their hair done the day before and maybe have someone available to morning of to touch it up if need be. If your ceremony starts at 12:30, that is really pushing it. My hair appt was at 7am and I didnt get done until close to 11. That would never work for you.

Re: 12:30 pm ceremony

Because we changed our date and the church mixed up our Pastor's schedule and the church schedule we have to do ours at 10:30 AM because he had already planned on doing another wedding 2 hours away that afternoon. The lunch reception is at 11:30 AM.

I will definitely be getting my hair and nails done on the Friday before, and I guess my FH is going to have to see my hair and nails at the rehearsal and rehearsal dinner. I may have a scarf or something, but I really don't care. But I know many people who do this very early in the morning, you just have to plan your grooming accordingly.

I think 12:30 is not very early. Please tell your bridesmaids to get their hair and nails done the day before because you don't want to be late on account of grooming (you or your bridesmaids). If you are getting stuff done in the morning, you need to go to bed early so you can be well rested and not tired (which will show on your face despite make-up)-because you have to get up early.

Have someone, or you set out the dress in a way where you can just slip it on, and set out your undergarments/stockings, shoes, and accessories ready for quick access. If you are not too far from the church then get dressed at home (as long as you have adequate, reliable transportation). But if you are very far away: 25+ minutes, then get to the church early so you don't have to worry so much about transportation! If you do this, pack your bag 2 days before the ceremony, and then double check it before you leave.
All things are possible!...with proper planning. Be practical and take nothing for granted. Good luck.

Yes I am. My ceremony is scheduled to start at 11:00am. My reception is to begin at 12:30pm. If your bridesmaid gets up early then she should be ok, but personally I wouldn't push it. Getting things done the day before would be the way to go. My bridal party and I will be having ours done the day before.

If you are getting married that early I would advise everyone to get there hair, and nails done the day before. You dont want to push it too close.

Having them do their hair the day before is exactly what I was suggesting, butthat particular bridesmaid is already complaining that her hair doesn't stay well overnight, but this is one day that it will just have too and my hair person can maybe touch it up a little if it needs it. Everyone thanks for your detailed advice, I only have a few days left and now that all the big things are done I need to really organize a schedule and details.

While my ceremony starts at 3:30pm, I still don't want to get caught rushing. Me, my BMs, and my mom are going to the salon at 5am. We're also getting our nails done the day before.
I'm with the other ladies, if your stylist won't take you earlier, have your BMs get their hair done the day before, so your stylist won't be swamped doing everyone's hair at once.

I'm a married woman as of December 2, 2006.

5 am? Where do you live that the shop is open that early? Although I am having a night wedding my hairstylist is coming to the hotel to do the ladies in my wedding party and myself.

My wedding began at 3:30pm, but all of the bridesmaids had their hair, nails, and feet done the day before. Myself and the MOH had hair appts. at 7am the morning of the wedding. I agree with the other ladies they should go the day before because no matter how early they can get an appt. (like 5 am), with the wedding being that early it's still pushing it.

We're probably going to the shop. We haven't worked out the details, I just made sure I was in the book ;-)
My stylist has been doing my hair since I was a kid (and my mom's and sisters), so that 5am slot is for VIPs only.

Re: 12:30 pm ceremony

Hi ladies, ready2006 my wedding will also start at 12:30pm. My hair dresser is doing the bridal party hair. She will be there around 6am. Depending on the style which is still up in the air, she might wash and dry the night before then style the day of. I don't have a big bridal party so it will not take that long if she does it that way. My concern was the reception being over early in the day what us to do for me and my FH since our flight will not leave out until the next morning. He said he has some things planned so I will just go with the flow.

KMED I had an early wedding too and our flight didn't leave until the next day. I just wanted to say you will be so exhausted that you will just want to go back to your hotel room and relax.

Rhony, my wedding is at 10:30 AM....was that too early for guests to get up and dance at the reception (starting at 11:30) -was there any special music? and how did you and hubby spend the rest of the day? Did you spend any time with family after the wedding or on Sunday morning? Or did you not see them at all after the ceremony, and spend private time together? We are leaving sunday morning too. Just trying to get your thoughts.

Rhony, I'm interested in hearing if you spent time with the family as well. We weren't planning on it. I'm probably the earliest out of everyone. Our ceremony starts at 10am and the reception is at 12. Our flight leaves Sunday morning as well.

Bumble - 11:30 is not to early for your reception to start because you're going to eat and perhaps have a *bleep*tail hour or some other type of entertainment first. After that everyone will be ready to dance. I did spend time with them after the ceremony because most of them stayed at the same hotel that we stayed at. We had a ball -- but I was sooooooo tired.

Ajia - If you are not planning on spending time with your family afterwards, that is ok. They will understand that you guys are probably tired and that your honeymoon officially begins after the reception is over -- LOL!! Trust me they will totally understand :-)

Rhonda how did it work out for your and your hairstylist? Did getting your hair done cause you to be late?

No it didn't. I got my hair, nails and feet done the night before, as did my entire bridal party. We didn't want to take any chances.

Sounds like that is the best way to go if you have the time the day before.

Wifey, I can only tell you what Onyxswan told me. Get a grip!! I also said I was going to work the day b4 my wedding. Mine is on a Saturday and I said I was going to work friday. She advised you will be so stressed and no matter how long and well you plan, there will be last minute things to do. Girl just take the day.

Re: 12:30 pm ceremony

Fortunately I teach on Thursday nights at the university, but I already have all my lecture slides prepared from this past semester so I have the option of either cancelling class, or finding a sub. Ithink they will thank me for cancelling class since I wll be teaching at night now. I may have to work Thursday and Friday for my internship since I am taking the entire following week off, so thats my compromise. They may let me get Friday off as I get closer to the day so i'll play that one by ear. Now that I think of it, I may even be getting my hair and nails done AFTER the rehearsal, which then all I have to do is go to bed....I may be up a little late but I am used to that...If I can get six hours of sleep, then I'm fine....
