Hello Ladies,
I am having a problem. I found wedding invitations that I fell head over heels with, so of course there had to be a problem. The invitations will have a picture of me and my fh on the inside of it and a thin sheer paper on top with the formal wording on it, tied togethor with a ribbon. The problem that I am having is the invitation is trimmed in silver and my wedding colors are champagne and latte with a offset of gold. I contacted the invitation company and they informed me that they purchase the invite with the border on it and the only thing that I can change is the color of the wording. I WANT THESE INVITATIONS!!! So I was wondering do the invitations have to match with my color scheme?

I say if those are the invitations that you want go for it! Most people do match their invitations with their color scheme, but it is not necessary. I really don't think anyone will be paying attention to the silver border. If it's what you want go for it girl! Let me just tell you about a similar situation. I bought my guest book which is trimmed in gold because I wanted it bad! My colors are navy blue, platinum and white. Do you think I care what people think? I had to have that book, so I bought it. And I am so glad I did -- LOL!!!

Girl if you like the invitations get them.I doubt very much that anyone will be thinking that you have used a different colour.If they are like me they would have put away the invites soo safe that they can't remember where they have put them (lol).

I say get them! I was trying to find invitations that I could get with orange (burnt) writing to match my scheme and I couldn't find any anywhere. I have ordered so many samples that it's a shame. lol Like my mother said "Girl, all people are going to do is read it, and keep it for the day of, then throw them in the garbage." lol So with that in mind, I'm ordering some invitations that I like whether they match my theme or not.
Thanks Ladies, I had a couple of samples laid out and had my fh pick which one he liked and he picked the one I really wanted. So I guess that's a winner.

I have a funny. My man is always crying that I do not let him pick anything. So I gave him a choice of three wedding cakes. I want a cake with a lavender ribbon. He picked the ugly one. So I will put the order in for the cake I want. On the big day I will blame say it must have been a mix up! Ha Ha

You all would do the same. We get a pretty three tier cake with our reception hall. He picked a cake that looked like it came from out of space! I think I use this trick a few more times. His ideas suck.

Mycenea as long as he has an opinion or idea its ok, but u dont necessarily have to use them. Men tend to think of some crazy things when it comes to weddings. My FH asked me "since our wedding is gonna be long can I have a chair to sit in at the alter?" I was like HELLZ NO! If I gotta stand up with 50+ extra pounds of dress on the you can stand in a thin suit.

How true Alvinslove, FH went to his reunion in July and told everyone he is getting married so everyone invited themselves.
Me:" well at lease you didn't tell them where it will be"

me rolling my eyes: "you didn't tell them the date,did you?"

Me: "how you going feed them?"
FH:"They don't have to eat."

how crazy(a mild word I am using) can someone be.Mind you he does't think he has done anything wrong.So I just remind him HE wanted a very small wedding.We are ok now.He told me not to worry and I am not going to, at least not yet.

That is funny, it reminds me of my fiancee. I asked him just last night if he completed his list of people he was going to invite so I can place the order for the save-the-dates. Of course he said no, but he insured me that it will only be a few people. Yeah right, a few people to him will be everyone he has encountered in the last 27 years.

Okay Allies, I am rolling here....A Chair at the Alter?!??? Thats a mess. My FH is trying to tell me what kind of dress to order, something with our color in it....I'm like the ones I've seen with color I really don't like...He text messaged me last week asking me again after our BM dress fiasco....I finally told him NO, because he can't deal with suspense, and I didn't want him his hopes to be dashed....but it pissed me off to have to give him any details about the dress.....I tell you men are so tunnel-visioned....I pre-ordered a game for his Xbox 360, the day it came out he called me incessantly asking if I picked it up. He NEVER calls me all day, 10 times a day...men are so weird, especially when they have their mind on something.....weird
We've been Happily Married 2 Years and Counting:)

Thank you ladies. Now I know my man is normal. He bugs me from the end of May until his birthday on June 21st about his b-day gifts. The only thing I hear from him the whole month is "what are you getting me for my b-day."

My invites were cream and gold.
Then FH thought it would be nice to have an all white wedding,
Then I got a dress that is white with silver and his outfit is the same.
So I would have to say no!!!
