I don't know if you ladies have posted how you met your FH before but I am curious. I'll start.
I stopped him working at a movie theater and I had planned on seeing the movie alone. When I brought my ticket I asked if he wanted to see the movie with me. He said yes and it has been love every since.

OMG mycenae..that's sooo cute. I honestly don't know if I'd have the kahunas 2 ask a man 2 do that.
I met my FH @ work. I was his receptionist...go figure!! After a few months of conversations, we had our first date. 9 months later, we moved in & got engaged Christmas 2005. I know it was rather quick, but when you "know" you just "know".

That is wonderful. He was so taken aback that he mumbled that he had to work. So I walked into the restroom and his boss said "if you don't watch the movie with that girl you are fired." When I came out of the restroom he begged me to wait to his shift ended and his boss let him off 15 mins early! It was love.

Each One Teach One!
I have known my husband since I was 12 years old ( 30 now) My dearly departed dad actually introduced us. he was acquainted with my husband's dad. We were close friends up until I was 16 then one day he stepped in front of me to get my atttention and I cussed him out (I was in a bad mood)! He grabbed me and kissed me and here we are after 14 years, 3 kids and more challenges than you can imagine. He still grabs me and kisses me when I am mad. LOL LOL

I met my fiance at a mutual friend's husbands birthday party. My fiance and my friend worked on the same job and she invited us both to a party she was giving for her husband. When he got there he spotted me. He was staring at me so hard, that I was turned off and annoyed. When he approached me, I stopped him cold and said if you can't carry on an intelligent conversation, then we have nothing to talk about! Of course the man talked about everything from politics, foreign affairs, sports, weather, etc. We went on a date the very next day. Things began to go sour for a variety of reasons and we separated. We got back together in Dec. 2004 and he asked me to marry him by giving me an engagement ring and said no backsies! He said that he couldn't live without his family (we have a daughter together). The rest is history!!!!

My FH and I grew up in the same church have known each other our entire lives. We finally started dating during high school, did the long distance thing through college (I went to Howard in DC, he went to NJIT) and now 7.5 years later we're engaged. :)

Very long story short: I met my FH when I was 15 (now 29) at the Community Center before I had step practice (I was in a sorority). Let me rephrase that, I SAW my FH then and told my cousin she had to hook us up. Next day or say, she gave me his #. I called him, but it didn't last long. Then we met again about 4 years later, but it didn't last then either. Finally we hooked back up in May of 98, became a couple June of 98, engaged the 1st time Dec 98!

I met my fh in high school. I am in love with men that make me laugh and he was the class clown. He would sit by me and make me laugh and get me in trouble. We exchanged numbers, and the rest is history.

Very funny
I met my FH at our professional organisation meeting. He was at the head table and he looked down at me and said 'I haven't seen you here before'.Well I made sure I joined up and was definitely at the next meeting.lol.By the way,he asked me out for an icecream after the next meeting. Now 7yrs and 2 kids later we will be married.
When we got back from Spring break of my freshman year of college (1999), my FH and his friend was at our apartment playing cards with my roomates. We didn't hit it off right away, but I noticed that they began spending a lot of time visiting a lot after that so of course I thought they liked my two roomates, but later on I found out he liked me. I liked him too, but I was in the middle of a nasty break-up. Eventually we became very good friends, joined at the hip and all that. We became a couple May 1, 1999, and 7 years later to the day (May 1, 2006) we got engaged.
We've been Happily Married 2 Years and Counting:)

I posted this story somewhere else but I want to be part of the fun . . .
I collect African art in a very casual way and I heard that a friend of a friend was hosting a young African sculptor on his first trip to the States. I went to the showing and bought several pieces (he undersold, I overpayed). Then I asked him to lunch. That was on a Friday and he didn't call all weekend. Monday he called and we set a date for Tuesday. Tuesday morning we went to brunch. By the time I got to work I had 5 missed calls. He called another 4 times that day and the next and the next. Now he sculpts mostly women and babies.
OK, As you guys know I am long winded. I will try to make it short. Met at Boylan pool when we were 13 & 14 fell in love. Parents seperated us, we were too serious. Hooked up for a 1 day stand at 17 & 18 he was going in Navy for 8 yrs. Wrote letters while he was away. Both got married, had 3 children a piece and divorced. After discharge Taking nephew to school he saw my picture on bulletin board(I was vp of pta) and came bck for next meeting. I was in middle of marriage breakup, his baby was 6 months old, I backed up. Ffwd 10 years ran into his sister gave her my # took hers. Didn't call he did 3 times. Hooked up and 6 years and a two year old later, we are getting married 07/07/07

GOD IS GOOD ALL THE TIME; ALL THE TIME GOD IS GOOD. WHEN IN DOUBT, PRAY
Hello, I met my babes in college. I was 19 and while I was walking to my car he was walking ahead of me, and for some reason I just wondered what it would be like to be his girlfriend. Don't know why I said that, we never even spoke to each other, it was weird. From that point on I kept seeing him, he asked me for my number. We dated for about 5 years through college, broke up for 6 years, and got back together 1 yr 1/2 ago after he came back from Iraq. I guess it was meant to be!!
Yes it was Soontobe!!!!

Again...old thread, but since I'm fairly new here I though I would share. This is copied and pasted from our wedding website (fairly long and wordy...but that's me!)
There are two different stories. One if you ask Jamie, the other if you ask me. First the truth, my story: I was going out with my girlfriends to an event so I really needed to get a hairstyle different from my usual doo. As I was contemplating where to go, a radio commercial for Jamie's shop came on. Why not? So, I picked up the phone and made an appointment. Now this is where there is a little confusion: He says that he was outside when he saw me 'wandering' up and down the street looking up for a sign, so he 'knew' immediately that I must have been looking for his shop, so he stoppped me and asked what I was looking for and pointed me in the right direction. Jamie says later he came inside and watched me from a distance. Now first of all, we all know that I don't wander. I had a specific place I was going to, and I really don't remember speaking to any 'stranger' about where the shop was. I still say that he may have spoken to someone else that day, because I don't recall any of that. Anyway...my hair turned out AMAZING, I had a few extra bucks, and I enjoyed looking at this tall, caramel brown man, so of course I came back a few more times. On my last visit to the shop, Jamie came and sat next to me under one of the dryers. He made me nervous and in case anyone cares, my pits were sweating. I had admired him several times from afar, but I just assumed that a man as beautiful, well-groomed, and as sexy (with his country accent) as him MUST be married, so I was content to just look. However when Jamie sat next to me we talked, laughed, and joked while my hair dried, he gave me about five numbers and an email in order for me to get in touch with him...Well I did, and here we are.
Ladies...Turning on the radio that day was the best choice I EVER made!
I was working for a trucking company (May 2005).One day,I received my assignment and was walking to my truck.A few new guys were coming out of one of the buildings. The last one stopped in his tracks, like a deer caught in the headlights, and just stared.I just waved, then left.We met two weeks later,I liked him and gave him my number. The next day,we hung out and had lunch. He bought me a dozen roses and some candy.
Later that day,he got a load assignment. When it was time for him to leave,I asked him for a hug. When I stepped back to say goodbye,he kissed me.We lost contact for a few weeks. When I heard from him again,he told me that he quit the company. But,he loved me and wanted to be with me.We later hooked up and started driving together. We've been together since then.
Born Blessed!
Those are some lovely stories ladies!

I understand.I felt the same way.Working in a male dominated field,I made it a point not to date within my company. But,like Cin,I'm glad I gave him the number.

We met online when we were 15 (now 23).We used to talk on this website and on messenger just about everyday. We exchanged numbers and started calling each other. For five years we talked off and on and never met face to face. Once we planned on meeting but he stood me up(...says he got drunk with his friends and they left him on his porch sleep...it was his 18th birthday..LOL thats the funniest excuse I ever heard).Well we finally met and had our first date March 21,2004. After that we went out once a month...then twice a month then every weekend...then we spent every school break together. After about 6 months we had our first kiss that lasted 4 hours (We were at my cousin house laying on the couch, and he asked me for a kiss and I was too shy at first. After hugging him for about an hour I finally got the nerve to lift my lips to his and he wouldnt let go.That was the best kiss ever!). We moved together March 21, 2005 and were engaged September 2005.
Its so weird becasue I grew up with his sisters and knew most of his family but dont reemamber him. We even went to the same church when I moved here in 1994 but I still dont remember ever meeting him. He says its becasue he was the funny looking kid all the way in the back...And in the whole 5 years of us talking off and on we never deleated the others numbers out of our phones.I must have changed cell phone 20 times and his number was always the first entry in the new one (same for him).Sometimes we wouldnt talk for months up to a year and I still didnt delete his number! I guess it was meant for us to be in each others lives!
And who said the internet is good for nothing

I know right! You can meet alot of people here..I met all of you ladies and I'm happy about that!
Wow such beautiful stories....we met at a church convention 5 years ago through a mutual friend, me living in southern california and him living in northern california. When I first seen him I though he was so cute but did not want to pursue it because of the distance, so we became really good friends, and one day realized how much we could not resist each other and starting dating and here we are now planning our wedding. Who would have ever thunk it. But I believe God had us predestinded to be with each other from the beginning, because to be honest we were both not really supposed to be at the convention, but God knew that I had to go because 5 years later he was going to bless me with my hearts' desire.

[quote="MsBoston"]If you click on the ticker of someone that has a ticker it'll take you to the site where you can obtain one and design your own. Then after you create one it'll give a weird code (URL???) Next you highlight it and "copy" it and than "paste" it into your signiture on your profile in the part where it says signiture. it'll show up on all of your posts.hope this helps.

Here ya go, Shannon
