Re: Reception site

Have you thought about the Botanical Gardens? It is so gorgeous and last I saw they let you have your own caterer. You could have wedding and reception at the beach too to save money and time. I went to one on Magens Bay and the entire place was TRANSFORMED! just beautiful!

Did you ask around to anywhere specifically? Did you try to negotiate hotel rooms in exchange for using their caterer?

Re: Reception site

Was the wedding you went in the evening or in the daytime. We wanted a night wedding but Magens don't allow Generators. The Botanical Gardens charges $25 per person plus a fee if you bring your own caterers.
If you have anymore idea please let me know

Re: Reception site

Botanical Gardens is really nice. However they don't let you bring in your own caterer. I'm still looking for a reception site and my wedding is in May. Finding a place that wil allow you to bring your own caterer was one of my biggest problems. Now I don't care if I have to use the site caterer I'm just looking for a nice place to have a reception. I will be on the look out for you. I'm looking for a reception location in the duluth, lawrenceville, norcross area if anyone knows if a place please let me know. Thanks

There is Chan's mansion in Estate Crown & Hawk. It is exquisite and now a botanical gardens as well. The house is just gorgeous. Call Bryan's Farm and ask them about it. They own it now.

Who is planning your wedding? Why are you adverse to using the in-house caterer? Do you have a friend that is doing it for you?

Re: Reception site

My fiance loved the restaraunt he proposed to me at so much, he decided to take a chance and ask if they cater weddings, and not only did they cater weddings, they had their own banquet room! Plus, we don't have to pay for the banquet space, and their food is the bomb. This is the restauraunt in FL where politicians from all over love to eat at. The price for the catering is ridiculously cheap (like 16.00-30.00/pp), but if you are going just to eat in the restauraunt, then the prices are through the roof. Our meal the night he proposed for 2 was like 90.00! But thats how they can keep their catering prices down. And they don't really advertise it much either. And they are family-owned and very professional.

I would definitely check out a very nice restaraunt to see if they have a banquet room and a menu.
