Well, my wedding is in Sept. I'm sending my invites out in July (around the 20th) so that all RSVP's will be back by the end of the 3rd week in August. I'm not having all of these last minute still RSVP in Sept. I'm not going through the headaches.
I think 5 months is too early because truthfully, you want to be close as possible so you are sure nothing as far as the venue, or anything else will change. Plus people will respond right away, and then close to the wedding, they may back out (unforseeable circumstances) or forget and plan something else. Some people can't plan that far ahead as far as work schedules go too depending on the job.
Our Wedding is March 3, and we will be sending them out Jan 2. The deadline is Feb 15 as per our coordinator's request.
60 days ahead is good so people don't forget, and giving them about 45 days to respond is good too, so you can get an early estimate and it also gices you a week or so after the deadline to make calls to non-responders or to someone who may have not recieved the invite.
hello ladies, my wedding is in May. I'm sending out my invites in March. Not too early will they will forget and not too late for them to have time to RSVP. A lot of my guest will be coming from out of state so I sent save-the-date magnets so they can request the time off of work and prepare for travel expenses. Being that you have about 8 months until the wedding maybe you should send out magnets. I made mine. It was really inexpensive and very cute. I hope this helps.
I found a save the date magnet on line that I liked. Then I edited, printed it on photo paper so it could have that shiney look and added two circle magnets that I got from the school box store. The magnets were 2.00 for 100. They came out so nice. everyone was impressed and thought I bought them. If I knew how to post pictures I would show you sorry.
I hate that I didn't do the save the date cards. We did do photo thank you cards with 7 of our wedding pictures on there that said thank you and our names. Everyone likes them especially because they have the different pictures on them.
My save the dates are going out this month (December) even though we have a little over two years. The reason being is so everyone can decide if they would like to go Jamaica with us and start to save for their trip. We got magnets too, this way people will not loose them like they may with cards.
But I will probably send the invitations out two months ahead of time.
Yup. Another plus for me is I will have a very close count for RSVPs and know who to send the invitations to because they will be using my travel agent and I will know who has paid and who hasn't. So I am killing a few birds with one stone.

Don't worry, we didn't do save the date cards/magnets either. We will do some picture magnet/thank you's for those invited and gave gifts, and wedding announcement magnets for other friends who were not able to get invited due to budgetary constraints.
Hello, when is a good time to send out wedding invitations? How far in advance? My FH was saying about 5 months, but I'm thinking that's too early...

PB&J, why do you regret it?
I just think they are so cute. Maybe regret is a strong word.
