Hi Ladies,

I am thinking about doing a butterfly release at the end of the ceremony and I would like for FH niece to read a poem, but having a hard time finding a really good one. Please help!

Re: BUTTERFLY POEM

This is a wonderful topic! My mother told me I needed someone to read a poem, and I have a few people in mind, but I just need a poem!! I can't wait to read a few.

Re: BUTTERFLY POEM

My cousin had this read at her spring time wedding two years ago:

Spring:

Today, we release a butterfly
as a symbol of new beginning and life.
We celebrate the resurrection
and rejoice in the wonder, and reconnection.
As it glides away in the warm Spring air,
and flutters among the blossom there,
and stops to rest on a flower or two,
and takes a drink of the morning dew,
we remember that there is nothing too small
that our faith in Christ should ever stall.

Autumn:

Today, we release a butterfly
as a symbol of new beginning and life.
We celebrate the resurrection
and rejoice in the wonder, and reconnection.
As it glides away on the Autumn breeze,
and flutters among the wind-blown leaves,
and stops to rest on a flower or two,
and takes a drink of the morning dew,
we remember that there is nothing too small
that our faith in Christ should ever stall.

Feel free to use

Re: BUTTERFLY POEM

I am also releasing butterflies at the end of my wedding ceremony. As the pastor tells us to salute the dj will start to play Alicia Keys butterflies, and my guest will open there envelops releasing the butterflies. The envelops contain one butterfly and will be personalized with our names and wedding date.

Re: BUTTERFLY POEM

how do you keep the butterfiles from dying before they get a chance to be released?

Re: BUTTERFLY POEM

This is a beautiful idea. I saw it on that TLC show, "Whose Wedding Is It Anyway." The butterflies are shipped in a crate with an icepack, which puts them in sleep mode. You have to remove the icepack a couple of hours before you want them to be released. When you remove the icepack, they start to warm up and are ready to fly.
