Okay, my mom went with me on Saturday for the girls dresses and ended up getting her dress too. Can I say waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too much friggen' money? But, she said she wants to look good and right on my day too. Plus I have to admit, she look F-A-B-O in her dress. It's by Mon Cheri. I'm trying to find a good picture, but I can't find one right now. Have your mom's/grandmom's/aunt's/special woman in your life picked their dress yet?

Yes. There was lots of drama behind it. Now that the smoke has cleared, my mother and my FMIL are both wearing the same dress in ivory, the color I have requested. I am wearing ivory and I wanted them to wear ivory as well. FMIL has redeemed herself from kicking rocks...for now...

They won't be wearing the hat. The hat makes it look like they are going to sunday church service. The suit was only $200 after rush shipping fees were included.
Classy, did you want them to wear the same dress or is that just how it happened?
Classy, did you want them to wear the same dress or is that just how it happened?

I wanted the color to be the same, so I was giving FMIL sites with the same company/designer that makes a consistant ivory color. Due to FMIL not communicating with me, she thought we wanted her to wear one of the dresses my mom liked. So, she purchased the dress my mom liked w/o telling us beforehand. Now I'm happy because they will REALLY be matching - color, style, and all. lol.
Oh okay. Girl, I would've been pissed! But, that's just me! lol Tell your momma, she betta ROCK THAT DRESS on your big day. When are you going on your honeymoon?
My mother saw a nice two piece outfit on Alfred Angelo's website that she is thinking about purchasing.

house, was it the first outfit on the mother's page of Alfred Angelo?
Hi ladies, I am still lokking for a dresses for my mother and FH mother. I can't believe how expensive MOB dresses are. I had one store owner say that is why she doesn't sell MOB dresses because it is hard to sell because it's so expensive. I saw a BM dress that I was thinking about getting for my mother then she will still be able to wear the color that is in the wedding. Does anyone know of a place to order some nice dresses at a good price for MOB?

This is the dress that my mother is wearing but it is ice blue. And yes MOB dresses are RIDICULOUSLY expensive. Her's was 3 times the price of the bridesmaids dresses.

After we get a house. LOL. I decided it was more important for a contribution to a down payment on a house than a honeymoon. We are only going away for the weekend to our first anniversary vacation spot (only hour from here) and then coming back. No real honeymoon.
Oh that is very pretty ajiamarie.

That is beautiful! My mother and FMIL's breasts would be hanging all out down the front of that dress. lol. Your mother must have a very nice body and good taste!

What's a "good" price to you? And is the mother plus size? My mother had 4 different sites she was looking at that had suits and dresses for weddings, but she is plus size.
It actually comes up pretty high. It doesn't show any cleavage at all.

LOL, Girl I was just thinking the samething. My mother is short and a little stout.( wearing a size 16) So that dress would do nothing for her.

She got hers at Hollywood Bridal in Union, NJ. It's by Daymor Couture. This place doesn't charge for alterations so that helped make her decision.

since i am in florida can u purchase them online?
We have some short momma's! lol Mine is 5'2.
Y'all are so correct! MOB dresses' are definately EXPENSIVE. Ajia, I like your mom's dress. My mom ended up spending - are you ready? - $600 for her dress. Yes, she is also plus size but the dress looks really good on her (that's all that mattered to her). This isn't a good picture of it (the detailing is superb) but here it is.

ETA, there's beading and appliqu
That is so funny, my mom is also short she is about 5'3 and she is also a thicky-thick girl! lol I can see us spending a lot of $$ on something for her to wear, I say us because I will probably help her so that she can find something really nice that makes her feel comfortable, no matter what the price is. She had mentioned having someone from church make her something, we'll see.
Such pretty dresses ladies!

Then you wouldn't have to worry about it not fitting right because the dress would be custom fitted.
the thread should be "thick, short mommas. cause i got one with girth :) she used to be a coke bottle but now she definately is in the 2 liter section and she wants to be tadah for the wedding but I have to be the one running around for the dress.
My mom is also short around 5'3"...and she is thick also! lol She is looking into wearing a traditional african dress with the head tye and everything, she brought some fabric back from Liberia this past weekend that she might want to use.

Yes, and I didn't like them. I didn't go there for a dress, but I went looking for Classy shoes. They weren't welcoming at all. So, I will not get a thing from them. Glad Ajia had a better experience than I did.
I thought thatwas the place. The was not welcoming at all with me either. I basically helped myself and when I went to look at the dresses they had the looked annoyed that I was touching things.

Oh wow. Not cool! I hope you find the shoes at a place that deserves your money/business.
Lol. They were the ones who I had the dress issues with before. I wound up going elsewhere to get it. My mom still likes the store though so she went back. I would never buy anything there myself.

Classy, I actually tried the shoe on but I didn't like it on my foot. But, the shoe is still "ON FIRE". LOL
Ajia, I don't remember the dress issue you had, but I don't blame you one bit for not going back. Where did you end up getting your dress from?
