Ok so DFH came to me and said I think we should write our own vows. I thought ok, that should be easy. Yeah right. So I decided to surprise him, and sing to him. I hope I can keep it together.
My son is learning to play "Stay with you" by John Legend. I have changed some of the words to suit us.
We had our first pratice last night. I cried half way thru it. I hope I can get thru it on the day!!!
What are everyone elses plans.

Introducng the new Mrs. Durrant!!!
Wow MzTajsia how special is that!!!! That sounds really beautiful. There will not be a dry eye in the place -- so make sure somebody has plenty of tissues.
Delight yourself in The Lord & He will give you the desires of your heart!Ps 37
that is awesome. i wish i could carry a tune. i suggested a song and was soundly shouted down :)
that is going to be fantastic and as rhonda says there will not be a dry eye in the house.
That sounds absolutely beautiful.
I wonder if I can do that by lip synching. Because for me to carry a tune, there won't be a dry eye in the house..from laughter.
"I's married now" - "The Color Purple"
lol - I can't sing a lick either. But, FH & I decided that we're writing our own vows. I really hope I can get through them because I haven't completed one sentence yet and I'm already teary eyed. lol
Ok dont get me wrong I can carry a note i just tend to drop it sometimes LOL... but I figured it would be great and a way to say I love you so much I am willing to make a complete fool of myself!!! If he starts crying I will be no good. I have my bridesmaids learning it also so they can do the backup and sing just incase I become inaudible and or just need help.

That a great idea. I wish I could carry a note. I would sing you bring me joy by Anita Baker. My aunt doesn't think that would be hard for anyone because she thinks Anita Baker sings through her nose.

That's an AWESOME idea! I actually thought of lip synching (yes, I said it)a song to him w/my girls as backups as well. But, I'm wondering if it would come across as tacky. Lawd knows I can't sing to save my life, but I'm willing to take singing lessons to pull this off.

I found these vows online and changed it a little to fit us.
Bride to Groom
I Janice take you, Lasean,
to be my lawfully wedded husband,
secure in the knowledge that you will be
my constant friend,
my faithful partner in life,
and my one true love.
On this special day,
I give to you
in the presence of God and all those in attendance
my sacred promise to stay by your side as your faithful wife
in sickness and in health,
in joy and in sorrow, as well as
through the good times and the bad.
I promise to love you without reservation,
comfort you in times of distress,
encourage you to achieve higher goals,
laugh with you and cry with you,
grow with you in mind and spirit,
always be open and honest with you,
and cherish you for as long as we both shall live.
