TATTOO'S

Ladies, I know this was a topic before, but I don't feel like searching for it. lol

If you have a tattoo, are you covering it up? If so, what are you using. I went and bought a concealer (Estee Lauder/Prescriptives - I think) and was given setting powder (Dermablend). When I tried to do it, the makeup got all over my shirt. So, my veil would've been a nightmare. What are you doing/using?

Re: TATTOO'S

I was going to purchase a tatoo cover up kit. I saw them online. It's suppose to be smear proof.

Re: TATTOO'S

I use to use the Dermablend Cover Creme (not powder) with SPF 30 on the linea nigra I have below my belly button (I don't have a tattoo, I'm a piercing type of gal). It didn't rub off when I used it and I used it regularly. I had to let it dry and then it stays on even in water. It takes soap to get that stuff off.

Re: TATTOO'S

I have a tatoo on my arm and I refuse to walk down the aisle showing it. In fact I am going to purchase enough for my girls. I think it takes away from the elegant look.

Re: TATTOO'S

I have one tattoo of FH's name (I know...) in script on the small of my back, so no need to cover that up because it won't be seen. I'm grateful EVERY day that when my girlfriends were getting those tacky @ss tribal band tattoo's around their arms that I didn't follow suit...Fewwww! Thank goodness! I too am more of a piersing gal myself...none so be seen though. Again thank goodness.

House, I couldn't agree more! I have one tattoo on my arm of my son's name, then one on my leg (but I don't have to worry about that one), then I have one on my left breast. So, 2 of the 3 HAS to get covered. Thanks for all of the suggestions. I'm going to start buying products now to test them out.

I will Rhony!

House, I'm cracking up over here. You know I'll hook you up! Your day is before mine though. :-) So, I might get the pointer from you.

Re: TATTOO'S

I was speaking to one of my BM and she recommended MAC, she said that they have a wide variety of 'stage makeup' that is thick but smooth specifically for covering up tattos. Also, I remember seeing a tatoo cover up kit @david's B. don't know anyone who has tried that one though. Just a thought as I weather through this god-awful snow storm up here.

Re: TATTOO'S

Very interesting. I was torn about this. I have a small tattoo of a butterfly on my right arm (still regret getting - long story...lol). Anyway, I was going to cover it up. On the other hand and like it or not, I consider it sort of like, a part of me. So, I have opted to not cover it.

Welcome to the site JuneBride!
As long as you are happy with your tattoo and it doesn't bother you then it shouldn't be a problem. Just sometimes if a tattoo is big/ugly/indscript they look sketchy in photos.

Re: TATTOO'S

I hope I don't offend anyone or risk sounding like that "Imus" guy but I saw wedding pics on another site recently. The bride was covered with tattoos (even had several piercings-including eyebrows, nose, and lips). She REALLY OVERDID IT! Even though she wore a beautiful gown, she looked like a "hot mess". It made her pics look "tacky". I'm sure her pics would have turned out better if she would have covered the "tats" and left the piercings out.Just my two cents...

Born Blessed!

Re: TATTOO'S

No offense taken here. I myself don't like tattoos on a bride, but to each its own. I went to one where the tattoo was on the brides arm (a name one like mine) and she too looked tacky. To me, it takes away from the elegance.

That's like when I watch something and Mary (J. Blige) is looking VERY nice. Then, I see the tattoo and just shake my head.

Re: TATTOO'S

While at Macy's last night, I stopped by the Dermablend counter. At first, I was skeptical because the base was too red. But, once we found my correct shade, it worked very well. I went home and played around with it, and the mistake I made before was, I didn't let the makeup dry completely before I put the setting powder on. You should try it out.
