Ladies Night Out...Or What?

Because of another post...I began to wonder what you ladies are planning for your bachlorette party? Is it a surprise being handled by your BM's? Do you have input? What would you like? For the Mrs. out there what did you do?

Re: Ladies Night Out...Or What?

my girls are giving me a surprise shower. I wanted to hang out with the girls and some of my family that will be coming from NY the night before the wedding. However me and the BM might have to get up at 4 AM the day of the wedding to get hair and make up done. I'm not too happy about that. She will have to do a total of 6 to 8 heads so she said if we come at 4 she should be done in time for us to get back get make up done and get dress. The wedding starts at 12:30. The hotel is about 10 mins from the ceremony. I want to check out the ceremony before I get dress to make sure everything is set up the way I want it. I know I'm going to be so tired. I was thinking I can get a little sleep while the Bm are getting their hair done and I can get up at 6:30 but they said the bride is suppose to get her hair done first. So I'm not sure what I'm going to do the night before. I'm sorry I know I just wrote a book and got a little off topic but I think I needed to vent a little. Please forgive me:-)

Re: Ladies Night Out...Or What?

My BM's did my bridal shower, which was about 2 weeks before the wedding. I HAD to have input because I had already had an idea of what I wanted my bridal shower to be like -down to the colors and theme. I let the BM's chose the food, cake, and favors as long as they stayed in the theme-and they did a GREAT job!
The theme was "Girly/glam", and the colors were reds and pinks. The invites were simple clean white invites with a cross, but they had pink flowers everywhere, red and pink flowers on the cake and the favors were little chinese boxes covered in pink roses filled with gourmet jelly beans. There were pink and red balloons on the floor and they gave me a crown with pink fur on it, and some cute bride-to-be pins. We also had colorful beads for everyone. Plus there were fun games and delicious finger food. The girls all dressed really nice & cute so the pictures looked really good.

I wanted to then do a girls night out as a bachelorette party but I got so busy I decided not to... I still could have done one on Friday night (they tried) but with the early wedding it wasn't worth it.

I think that whatever parties you do whether it be a shower or a bachelorette night with the girls, have it planned well ahead and give the names, numbers and addresses of your intended guests to the responsible BM in a timely manner so guests will have ample time to plan and purchase gifts. If its a girls night out, I would do it the Saturday before if most of them are in town, if they are out of town, try to convince them to come in one night early so ya'll can party a little, and have the night before the wedding to yourself. I chose to end the night alone in my house relaxing, and then I prayed before i went to bed and I had a very clear head the next morning.....which made all the difference on my wedding day....I have seen brides with the black bags and clammy skin wake up on their wedding day, and it ain't pretty:)

We've been Happily Married 2 Years and Counting:)

I think what I'm having is a bridal shower and bachelorette party. I say think because my girls aren't let me know about anything. lol However, I am giving them the guest list. I don't have a theme, didn't know that the showers have theme's too. :-) But, I'm just leaving it all up to them, I know they will do a fantastic job!

Re: Ladies Night Out...Or What?

My sister and a few of my friends planned my bridal shower which was a lot of fun!!!! We also had a "get acquainted" dinner at my sister's house to introduce the groomsmen to the bridal party because they didn't know each other. We gave out our thank-you gifts there. We had such an awesome time. It was informal, we cooked the food and bought some of it. We laughed, cried (happy tears) and just had an awesome time. I will never forget it!
