My FMIL mentioned lat night the growing desire for people to celebrate with us. On our upcoming nuptials, and she suggested having a second reception when we get bakc to the states.
At first I was like that is more dang money and I was done planning shoot!!!
But after FH calmed me down he said he would like to have onoe for those that will not be able to come.
One thing I noticed about our guest list is that everyone that lives outside of the US is coming. All the statesiders are draggin their heels or saying No!
So we decided to persue it. With that said I now need help with a decent local.

MsTajsia, I think that's a wonderful idea & from what I hear it's becoming more & more popular for those having destination weddings nowadays.
What kind of place are you looking to have this in? Park, VFW Hall, etc? Look into hotels also, but see how you can keep the cost down b/c I feel you on the more money aspect.
Whatever you choose, it's going to be beautiful.

Hi MzTajsia,
I think having a reception is an awesome idea. You might also want to consider having your second reception at a restaurant. A lot of restaurants have a banquet room and it is much less expensive than a traditional banquet hall. The restaurant we had our reception at allowed us to bring a DJ and let us choose the color of the linen at no extra cost.

MzT. Agree with the ladies. That's a great idea. Wondering, how soon after the wedding/honeymoon would you do the second reception. Would it be formal, or more of a get-together? That can make all the difference in the world when deciding which direction you want to go. Being a Boston girl myself I have suggestions&advise...Number one being choosing the location ASAP, that is IF you were doing in in Boston.
MzTajsia, I agree with the other ladies. I think it'll be wonderful to have a second reception. I know a couple of people that did it that way and they had a great turn out, not to mention the extra chi-ching. lol I'd say go for it! :-)
It would be in NYC somewhere I am looking into restuarants that will allow us to have a dj.
One of our groomsmen will be djing it.
I just need to find the location.
It will be maybe 75 people. Everyone that can't afford to come to the wedding. With the exception of a few add ons.
But not anyone we didnt invite origianlly.
I am trying to keep the cost as low as possible. We are going to give mini mints tins as a favor.
Boston you are right about finding some place soon it will be in August about two months after we get back.
If anyone has any suggestions by all means please send them my way.
