My bridal shower isn't until June 30, however it will be hosted at the Chart House, in Weekhawken, NJ. The theme for my bridal shower is Tiffany's. The centerpieces will be gift boxes wrapped in that tiffany blue ( aqua) gift paper and will be tied togethor with a white ribbon and bow with silver and white balloons coming from the top. My favors will be heart shaped chocolate lollipops with my picture on them. For the prizes we will have personalized gift bags to resemble the tiffany bags, that will say Janice & Co.( like Tiffany & Co.).

I know I am talking to much, but to answer your question about who pays for it, your bridal party are the one's who usually foots the bill for your bridal shower. However I wanted my bridal shower to be held at this location and I wanted to have certain things so I thought that it would be selfish of me to put the burden of paying for all of this, plus purchase the things they need for the wedding, so I am splitting the bill with them. I will however let them plan my bachlorette party themselves with no imput from me.

Girl you know waaaay to many details about a shower that didn't happen yet, lol! It sounds like it'll be a wonderful celebration.
House. that is such a cute idea and very original! you know I was having the same problem come up. I told my maid of honor that I wanted the shower at a hotel, or tea house. She found out that she could not afford that and would instead do it at her house. I told her no I would just help her pay but she isn't sure about that.
thanks
My sister rented a community room. My bridal party chipped in together and paid for everything. We had a lot of fun. We didn't exactly have a theme, but my sister used my favorite colors as a decorating them (purple & gold). My wedding colors were navy blue and platinum. We had a blast. We played games, told jokes, laughed and cried. It was a day that I will never forget.

My wedding shower is June 30th also.....my bridal party is doing everything. There is no input from me...I trust them so I'm sure we will have a good time...
I told My MOH that I didn't want a shower or bachorlette party I want as many people to come to the wedding as possible since it is a DW. I know for some families it would be expensive.
Introducng the new Mrs. Durrant!!!
I know alot about my bridal shower because I planned it. I even typed my bridal party up and itenirary. I picked the site where my bridal shower will be held, the games, the favors, the centerpieces, the invitations, and the prizes. All I needed them to do is pay there half, help set up, handle the rsvp's, and show up! I know exactly how I wanted things so I handled it. Sometimes when you rely on others to handle things it doesnt always go the way you would have wanted them. So to avoid that I did it myself.

My BP is handling everything for my shower. I didn't put in any input but the guest list. I trust they are going to do a great job.
My bridal shower was paid for by my BM's and it was at her house. The theme was centered around the things women love, flowers, shopping, candy. And the colors were red and pink. I had a lot of input, but I let them execute it with their own ideas meshed with mine. There was red and pink balloons everywhere, the favors were mini chinese boxes with pink flowers on them and my favorite candy: Jelly Belly Gourmet Jelly Beans. The prizes were very girly (accessories, jewelry, etc). And the food was delicious. Everyone got red and pink mardi-gras beads too. It was very simple, but I was so impressed to see my desires come through so well. I even had my princess crown and "Bride" pins to wear so, I was happy. I was also glad everyone dressed nicely and girly.

mllyles79,
I had my shower on April 22 it was very simple and elegant. Not a particular theme. My guest really enjoyed themselves. My best friend and my sister both threw the shower for me. Each of my guest got up and had something very positive to say to me. I think we as women need other women to sow something positive in our lives. We had the shower at a community center.
Oh yeah, I forgot to add that my BM's made a little piece of paper that each guest got to write a word of advice on and on the back they wrote their addresses and names (So I can write thank you notes to them). Plus the BM's kept track of who sent what gift. Also at the end all the papers were put in a basket and given to me, and I read all of the warm words of advice from each guest, who then spoke a little about what they meant. That was one of the most special parts of the shower.

I actually got a chance to plan my SIL (7/7/07 bride) bridal shower and we did the all so popular all white theme. I had a friend who is a culinary chef do all the food, and I did the dessert (french vanilla cupcakes piped with french vanilla frosting). None of the food was tomato-sauce based so if anyone spilled, it wouldn't be a disaster!
All the favors and invites were white with silver hearts stamped on them so the them can follow through...All the candy in the bags were white chocolates, white mints or vanilla flavored....We used the white/ivory silk petals from my wedding to spread on the tables and of course white Bridal Shower banners and crepe paper....Of course everyone wore white(Maked great pics)....I could have used her wedding colors (Apple Green/gold/chocolate/creme) but I wanted to set a different tone....
Anyhoo if you're looking for themes I have seen people do all black party, all red, all pink, or everyone just color coordinate...These make for great pics:)
