GROOMS CAKE

I haven't posted in a while but I'm back. We just recently moved into our brand new townhouse and so I've been playing Martha Stewart around the house. Anyhoo, since FH doesn't like one sport better than the other, I thought about getting him an ESPN cake. However, every place I've called (Wal-mart, Publix, etc.) has said something about logo copyrights. I don't know of any private vendors as of yet. Any suggestions sistas?

Re: GROOMS CAKE

There is a baker out there who may be willing to do the cake with the ESPN logo....But if they have not done it before you are depending on their artistry. Plus drawing a picture and piping that frosting into a logo is two different things....
Or you can do another kind of sports themed cake or find out his favorite team...Whats his alma mater? My husband would have died if I got him a Gators cake (fave team) or a FAMU cake (his alma mater), but as a Seminole I wasn't having it....So do some sleuthing and see if you can find out about a team where they can incorperate the colors or the team mascot. You may even be able to go to a craft store and find some cake toppers in the cake making section of teams or mascots that you can give to the baker to put on the cake.....There are lots of ways to get around it....If you do get a baker to do one who hasn't done one before, have them do a sample of the logo for you on a cardboard cake or small 8-in round so you can see if you like it.....

Re: GROOMS CAKE

Thanks girl. However, that's just it. He doesn't have a favorite team or sport. He watches EVERYTHING. He keeps the tv on all sports channels at one time. I thought about having all sports on his cake but from what I seen it looked too little boyish. Like for our 8yr old son. Keep the suggestions coming though.

Re: GROOMS CAKE

Why don't you have a cake with a baseball, football, basketball and any other ball you can think of. This way, you don't have to worry about copyrights.
