5 pm is evening you don't leave work at 5pm in the afternoon you leave at 5pm in the evening right? why should it be any different on an invite. Maybe they say afternoon bcuz it will still be light out.

The invitation people are dumb. But that's just my opinion, that's evening.
People eat lunch in the afternoon.

I had them change it BACK to evening. I just wanted to make sure I wasn't trippin'.
