Help With Late Thank You Cards

Hi Ladies,
Hope everyone is well. I need some help/advice from you. I got married in September of 06 and we still haven't sent out thank you cards. After the wedding, I was really exhausted, ended up quitting my job 3 months after because I was burnt out, been home recouperating (didn't do anything but rest and a little consulting work). Now I feel like I'm ready to get back to work and tackle those thank you cards. I'm feeling really bad for them being late because I'm not that type of a person and you know how Black folks can talk about each other. Can you please suggest a way of wording them, while incorporating an apology for our lateness.
Thank You

Re: Help With Late Thank You Cards

I would send my guest a thank note explaining my appreciation for them helping us celebrate our special day and I might include an explanation about why it took so long to send them a thank you. I would also attach a wedding pic of you and your husband.

Great idea! I'm guilty of this as well. Ever since the move, I cannot find the box of thank you cards I completed after the wedding. Never got around to mailing them off, and now they're completely lost.

I'm a married woman as of December 2, 2006.

Don't feel guilty or bad about it. Life happens, and most will understand.
I do however think late is better than never.
Also, since your wedding anniversary is approaching I think you may want to include a note about that, and it will seem more appropriate that you are sending them out now rather than back then.
oh, welcome!

Re: Help With Late Thank You Cards

I don't think it's too late to send thank you. I think people want to know you appreciate them and their generosity.
Not to change the subject but is it to early to send thank you cards? We have already received gifts and the wedding is still 2 months away.

Happiness is only a prayer away!

No Onyx, I think that'll just end up being two less you have to send later. I think appreciation doesn't have to be on a time clock, -although i'm willing to bet there is an etiquette book out there somewhre in the world...
oh well, i think gratuity is always appreciated, when ever it comes.

Re: Help With Late Thank You Cards

Onyx, we are receiving gifts early too. I am sending a thank card now and I will also send a picture thank you card later. I want them to know that I appreciate the gift but I still want them to know that I appreciate them coming to the actual day.
