We went to my cousins(Groom) wedding Friday evening which turned out really nice except.............they had the same cake/cake topper I'm having! Before we went I kept thinking what if we have the same this/that,and don't you know the first thing I seen when we walked in was my cake. I must admit I was kinda upset, but I'm over it now, only reason being is because it is the type of topper that I think caught everyone's eye and half the people there will also be at my wedding. Advice needed.......do I continue on with my plan or look for a different topper? My mom says I'm being silly and to keep it, but I've been online searching for something new. If you have your heart set on this cake top then by all means use it. I see what you mean about it being a focal point but make it your own. If they used all white, see if the person making your cake can accent it with your wedding colors. If their cake was circular, make yours square but put a 1/4 turn in each tier. There are several different things you can do and it won't even look like the same cake. (Or at least your cousin's wife may think - why didn't I think of that!)

Princessbride07, I think if you love your cake the way it is then don't change a thing. We all know people will talk about every little thing, so just let them. As long as you and your FH is happy thats all that matters!

I think you should go ahead with the cake you want. When decided on that cake, she wasn't the orignator, 100 others chose it as well. The way I see it, it's just a cake, there for the beauty & then shortly destroyed. If she or any others have a problem with "your" cake style and topper, tell them they should have picked one out & purchased it for you...if you're still set on a different cake, here's the one I was going to have when I was doing a Fairy Tale Theme.

Girl if you like that cake topper and had your heart set on it, I say go for it. Who cares that they had it. My fh's cousin is getting married on 7/7/07, and I was so worried that they was going to have something that I wanted to have. But who cares. I am getting what I want.

ElegantBride08 my theme is fairy tale. Thanks for all the advice ladies. I think I found a different topper that will go with my theme as well and a little less $$
