What do you ladies think of my dress?

I have a week to make my final decision. I found a sample that is only one size larger than what I need. The boutique is throwing in the cleaning and alterations for free if I promise to get my BM dresses there.
As a backup plan I called the designer direct and they are doing a cut on July 13. I am grooming the lady to see if I can go direct and same $$$.
Honest opinions please (like I have to ask on THIS site!) Also, any ideas of hairstyles and veil length?

That dress is beautiful! I love the touches of color in it. You should check with leephilipbridals.com and get a price quote to order your dress through them. I ordered all of my BM dresses through them, and they were about 30% cheaper than if we'd ordered them in the bridal boutique. The dresses came back earlier this month, and they weren't even due to come in until July. Definitely check them out. Good luck!

Your dress is absolutely beautiful. As for hairstyles, I love up-dos. No info on the veil as I have decided not to wear one.

I think your hair should be somewhat up. I was watching the Glamour's 20 do's and dont's last night and they say you shouldn't change who you are for this day just make your self more beautiful. So if you don't do up do's don't do it on this day people should still be able to recognize you. By the way that dress is banging.
Southerngirl.....
Very nice!

Girl that dress is stunning and I am sure you will look lovely in it.

Thanks for all your replies! I was looking for something with a little color but still classic.
I'm thinking I'll wear an elbow length veil so it won't conflict with the detail on the back of the dress.
As far as hair - I'm so versatile here. I wear it short-n-sexy, weave-wrapped, layered bob, straw set, microbraids, etc. I don't think I will wear a straight weave for the wedding but may have some invisible braids so I can have some versatility (pin-up, bun, layers, curls).
Dress is Gorgeous. I would wear a elbow or fingertip length veil, something with the gold edging & sparkle. As far as hairstyle, I recommend finding your jewelry and headpiece first and then play with different styles.

BTW bamabride, thanks for this tip! I'll email them the dress info now and see what they come back with.
Thanks Pamcrow - great minds think alike (Check my reply right above yours)! Here is a veil I found on ebay last night:

Oh, and here is the tiara I like:

Excellent choices for veil & headpiece. My only recommendation with ebay is to make sure you read the seller's reviews prior to ordering. Some seller's have poor reviews complaining about quality. Also look in the wedding sections at craft stores for gold pencil edge veils. You can add pearls, crystals or rhinestones yourself if needed.

Thanks for the advice pamcrow. This is good advice for anyone using ebay. Also, use a credit card as much as possible so if there is a problem you can dispute the charge with your credit card company. That way you won't have to pay until it is resolved. That's for any vendor. PAY YOUR BILL IN FULL EVERY MONTH IF AT ALL POSSIBLE THOUGH! (my financial planning side coming out)
That dress is beautiful! It seems like you have it all together the veil and tiara compliment it nicely. What color dress will your BM wear?
I think EVERYTHING is beautiful! You're going to look wonderful on your day! :-)
Thank you!

Thanks PB07. Everyone will be in wine (claret, burgundy) and gold. The MOH and MatronOH will wear gold as their main color, the BM will wear wine as their main color. Something like these but everyone will have a different dress to fit their body:

DON'T GET THIS VEIL!!! Save yourself. I ordered the EXACT same one from that lady on ebay!! Piece of crap & a waste of money!! The crystals weren't "plentiful" and it was advertised as being "diamond white". Girl, I got that thing & it looked like it was stored in gramma's closet for the last 20 years...all brown'ish looking.
My sister & I actually ended up making my veil. We got the veil in Manhattan in the bridal district & we ordered Swarvski crystals online. If you have a creative friend w/time on their hands...have them do the crystals. It'll come out looking alot better & probably stand up more decently than this thing would from ebay.
Just wanted to give you the heads up.

Oh wow! Thanks 4 the tip! She had a good rating but I did see a couple reviews that said exactly what you mentioned. I'll have my seamtress make the veil (hadn't thought about it until now)!
Good looking out MrsR
That is good to know. I have ordered a few things off of ebay and thank God I was very pleased with the items. I know now to look for the ratings.

It's a very pretty dress...It's a whole lotta dress, but it is very beautiful. For the hair, I would probably pull it into a bun. It's such an elegant dress, and I think a bun would be nice.
Thank you!
LOVE the dress! It seems heavy, are you wearing a petticoat under? But love it.
MRSRTB...good lookin' out. See that's yet another reason why I love yall. Just imagine how much money that wench makes off of brides who are expecting nothing less than beautiful for their wedding.
And future, I am in love with the colors you have chosen for the BM dresses. So elegant, so regal. Great taste.
Thanks MsBoston! Don't know about a petticoat yet - I was actually about to ask you ladies what you think. I tried on a dress a size larger than I need with and w/o the petticoat. It didn't look too different in the mirror. Will have to take pics to see for sure. The dress is a little heavy but not too bad!

That's the best thing to do. The digital camara was an eye-opening experience for me, the 3-way mirror has nothing on seeing a still shot of yourself.
I'm wearing a petticoat under my dress, and am praying that I don't get drenched w/sweat 'down under' September is usually pretty comfortable in Boston, but for the past couple of years it's been unseasonably warm?!? Who knows, I just like how full it looked with the petticoat.
Good choices, the veil, dress, shoes (from the other post).....very very nice...what are your wedding colors? I imagine its some gold in it (I hope you didn't mention it before and I am just late....)
We've been Happily Married 2 Years and Counting:)
a href="http://www.TickerFactory.com/">
My colors are burgundy, gold, and ivory. FH, my two children and I will all be in ivory and gold. The bridal party will be in gold an burgundy (MOHs and best men's main color gold, rest main color burgundy).
BTW - is this too dark for a spring wedding (end of May)? Its in the evening.
You can always brighten things up (the colors are fine BTW) with your flower choices...Adding yellows, peach/corals/lavenders in the bouquets and boutainnaires always lighten up a color palatte...We did Tiffany Blue, silver and white for our March wedding-which was too formal, too standard, so we added yellow/butter colored hydrangeas and different kinds of yellow roses to brighten it up and make it more garden-like.....It came out quite nice too. I am glad I didn't go with the original plan which was to do all white flowers which would have been lovely, but a little plain...

Here are some sample bouquets that may help make things look "spring"
I think you said burgundy and gold? They may not totally match but here are some ideas
Sample 1
Sample 2
Sample 3
Sample 4
So like I said, maybe you'll like it, maybe not....
You could also do deep yellow tulips or calla lillies(with burgundy gowns)...or burgundy tulips (if BM dresses are gold)

I got my veil from VeilsByLana on ebay, and my veil was gorgeous. If I had known that someone had gotten one and it was through, I wouldn't have, but I don't have ANY complaints, like I said, mines is gorgeous!!!!! It is white with penicledge elbow length veil and it was very wrinkly when I got it, but I put it in the bathroom with me while I was taking a shower and it relaxed and softened up. Loving it............
Here's my veil
Thanks (again) Bumble. I was thinking of adding yellow so you just helped me confirm that idea.
Tdankel, I had been reading her reviews. While she had a few bad ones most were good. I told my mother what MrsRob (no more 2b) said. She said for the price she'll buy it for me and take the chance. Hoping my experience is more like yours!
You are quite welcome!

FutureMrsKeepUp your dress is lovely! I would wear my hair up and make it simple. You would not need a lot of jewelry. The soft touch make up and dress will bring you out to a beautiful queen that you are. The shoes are perfect. Excellent choice!
HELLO, I LOOKING FOR HELP WITH MY TIFFANY BLUE WEDDING. IF YOU HAVE ANY PICS OR IDEAS FOR ME, THAT WOULD BE GREAT.

Thank you ladies so much! I really value all of your opinions.
Very pretty dress.
You may want to check with netbride.com for a price quote as well. Ive heard of several brides using them and being extremely happy

Thanks 2bmrspotts! I actually ended up ordering my dress through netbride.com. Its due to be here in November. It was less than 1/2 of what the bridal boutiques wanted and still $200 less than a consignment shop!
*bump* to hold you ladies over (you'll see why in my next post)
Oh my God!!! There will not be a dry eye in the church on your wedding day. The dress is an absolute dream.
