Spring Themed Wedding

Ladies,

I had originally come to you with my colors as navy and burnt orange. We unfortunately pushed our date back due to us moving into our new home and it is now set for April 2009. We are going to change our colors to navy and yellow and I have looked everywhere and I can't find any good combinations of those two colors. We live in KC and are going to have the wedding in our backyard but past that I am lost. Please help!

I found this inspiration board that had yellow as a primary color, and used navy as an accent.

Yellow is pretty for the spring:

The navy and burnt orange can still work: Here's navy and rust:

If she is sold on the navy color, she can use it and back it up with lighter blues like so....

and THEN punch it up with yellow accents.

Spring time weddings are so wonderful and fun to plan. Be that it's your backyard doesn't make it any less formal if you wish it. I've done plenty of backyard events and once we transformed the backyard, you didn't recognize it at tall.

That being said, I think that butterbean and VIPrincess gave you some superb ideas. I couldn't have done better myself, but I will add my 2 cents worth also.

Both color combinations (navy & orange, navy & yellow) are absolutely gorgeous, especially against a white backdrop. The colors have such a huge contrast and high impact that you can really do a lot with less. You could go for the simple and chic look and save big time. If you decide to go with the yellow, you could set up a nice lemonade station which would serve as both beverage and part of the decor. You could find nice paper lanterns to scatter through the backyard. Since summer is almost over, alot of stuff you could use for the backyard is getting marked down now so I recommend buying whatever you can now.

Seeing that it is an outdoor wedding I thought these might be a hit:

Blue Glass lanterns. You can use them to line your aisle, a path, hang in trees at the front of the house. So many cool applications.
