There are only 20 more days to go! I am a big fan of this girl. Classy from her head to her feet. Sensible and I think she would be an awesome Queen some day. Will she wear one of the diamond encrusted crowns that are owned by Her Royal Highness???

Rosie, don't we all! I love a beautiful bridal tiara. For the last few years, all the "experts" have been saying that tiaras are outdated and suggesting headbands, fascinators, florals, etc. Those are nice and some people follow everything the "experts" say but watch and see if this doesn't change after the royal wedding. Mark my words, you're going to see more princess brides after this wedding than you've seen in years! Why not? It's the one day a woman can get away with wearing a tiara without being in a beauty pageant. And shouldn't we all be queens on our wedding day? I know I wore mine proudly and experts be damned. LOL!

I completely agree. I felt like a princess for sure on my wedding day! Tiaras are so much fun. I don't think there is an age limit on tiaras either!

Expert opinioins are like a-holes: everybody has one... including me! lol Did you know EERYONE attending the wedding will wear a hat? It is unheard of to go without one. I still cover my head at church. I love a church hat. :)

I am watching it now. I have it Tivoed and I still can't stop watching it. Everyone will be late today! LOL Her dress is perfection. Her veil was stunning. She is juyst such a graceful person. She was even just the right amount of nervous. :0)
Why would anyone expect the Prince and Princess to take a security risk and walk out and greet that riled up crowd outside the cathedral??? Come on now CNN!

I agree that it was a beautiful wedding and I'm glad the rain held up. Prince William looked quite dashing in his red jacket military uniform. I was grateful for the bright color since Kate's sister's gown was also ivory. Seeing Kate's gown was a little anticlimatic for me. Although it was beautiful and really suited her body nicely, I felt I had seen it before and was hoping for something just a little different. For example, I would have loved to see something different with the draping or style of the gown's skirt instead of just box pleats. Thankfully, though, no pickups. As for the gown's bodice, if I had to wear sleeves, that's exactly the way I would do them, and it's pretty much what Grace Kelly did. Right now, there are so many comparisons to Grace Kelly's wedding gown. It would have been nice if she had her own look as she's her own bride. But that's Kate/Catherine. She not one to take any fashion risks...at least not yet. That said, it was good that the gown did not overwhelm her in its style. It was classic.
Her tiara was pretty although it could have been a half inch higher and would have suited her full skirt and long 9ft royal length train. I'm surprised that her veil wasn't longer than a finger tip because longer seems to be the trend today for church weddings especially since she had a royal length train. It also lacked fullness and just seemed to hug her head. The veil's trim was very pretty though. Her makeup was beautiful and I like how she styled her hair.
Overall, she made a beautiful bride and I wish them the best for a long, loving marriage.

Don't judge. My sister and I went to a watch party at 5am in a pub. LMAO!!
It was sooo much fun! They served tea and tea samiches and some heavily liquored wedding cocktail.
About that wedding..those were some superbad cocktail hats those divas were wearing. Here are my favorites:

One thing I didn't like is was how sloppy Prince William and Harry looked. Their uniforms looked a big on them and completely untailored. I was shocked and underwhelmed. William's father actually looked better and way more polished at his wedding with Diana.

And Harry's rope drapings were soooo sloppy. Whoever dressed them should be flogged. Seriously, this was just awful!

They already posted pictures of Kate Middleton's evening gown. It's......safe looking.

I'm actually more impressed at what Camilla Bowles is sporting. She's got more style than people credit her. I thought that her wedding outfit was the best i've seen on an older brides.

Butterbean, you are so lucky to find a watch party! I was actually online searching for one in my area and couldn't find one.
You are absolutely right on the the hats and outfits the guests were wearing. They were so creative and stole the show! However, the hats you posted may not be from yesterday's wedding. The one of Beatrice with the butterflies definitely isn't from yesterday's wedding.
At this point, I've seen too many creative wedding gowns to be wowed by Kate's gown. I had seen reports beforehand that the Middleton's had spent at least $48,000!!! on it, so I expected more creativity. Kate must have tied Sarah Burton's hands. I thought it was good for a $10,000 gown, but imagine what you or I could do with $48,000 to design a gown...and I'm not talking about anything outrageous at all, just a little different, a little creative.
For example, imagine if she had worn a gown like this with sleeves.

Still regal and elegant with some pizazz. Trust me, they wouldn't have even noticed her sister standing there. If the gown above was designed before my wedding, I would have seriously given it some thought and it's definitely not $48,000!
Knock-off designers don't need to rush to duplicate Kate's gown. The Grace Kelly gown has been duplicated dozens of times.

Even their bouquets were identical!
Yawn, yawn to that plain satin evening gown with crystal belt. Couldn't she have gotten a little sexy for the evening reception, just a little, a little fitted and fabulous? She's got the body for it!
I didn't really notice that William's and Harry's uniforms were too big. I don't pay much attention to the men. My mother did mention to me that Harry was walking with his legs wide open like a careless school boy!

Love the posts guys!
I love the whole classy thing Princess Catherine has got going for her. A princess should not look like lady Gaga anyways. lol. They can't show too much flesh. It would not be appropriate in the Cathedral anyway. She rocked a retro look, but it reminded me of Princess Grace. Just so simple, but totally perfect. I do love lace. There are so many cool points you guys touched on! I will respond and get to them all after I get my coffee! :0)
Butterbean & VIPrincess, the photos are insane! I love fascinators and I love U!

I hear you, michelerdh2005! Vibrideprincess, thatnks for adding those beautiful gowns. They are the stuff of dreams. I KNEW that dress was like Grace Kelly's! Butterbean That vagina hat was just a bit much! They reamed her a new hole on Fashion Police yesterday too, so you weren't the only one cringing! lolI kinda like this one, but I don't know if I could pull it off. I'm not sure homegirl is pulling it off either. That's a lot of hat

Now, I'd like to get in on the fun too ladies, if I may.
First and foremost, I'm very disappointed about Kate's dresses. I love Grace Kelly's wedding gown and find it most regal. It is the most copied wedding dress of all times. My thing is, if Katie wanted to channel Princesse Grace Kelly, she could've picked a more knowledgeable designer.
Yes, royal protocol at the Abbey only dictated that she must wear sleeves and be covered, but I agree with VIPrincess bride, for $48,000 on a wedding dress, the designer could've done a whole lot better for her. I'm sorry, but for the wedding of a future Queen, it was boring. I was disappointed. England just got over an economic recession and they couldn't have anything overly lavish in order to show their subject that they understood their hardships, however, a $48,000 budget for a wedding dress, it offers a lot. No one is saying for her to show the goods, but I expected more flourish. As for the Tiara, she had her pick of the Queen's Tiara because she is a commoner, I would've made another choice. Nothing gaudy, mind you, but more worthy of a future Queen of England, Ireland and Scotland. I was disappointed. I'm sorry
I love Grace Kelly's gown so much that I'm incorporating it in my own wedding gown, which will be made for me by a local designer in Haiti. All I'm saying is if you're knocking off Grace Kelly's gown, do it justice.

I was going to stick to my position regardless, but it's good to know that I'm not the only one, at least here, who feels that way about Kate's gown, but I'm going to go a step further... NO KNOCK-OFFS! I do like it, but not for her. I like it for a bride who isn't famous with a small to medium budget, not for a famous bride who is supposed to be setting trends and is supposed to eventually become an iconic princess/queen.
When you are supposed to be a trendsetter, you need an ORIGINAL design and not an edited copy. I'm surprised that her designer did not explain this to her. $48,000 is more than enough for a fantastic ORIGINAL design. I watch a lot of Project Runway and I just know if one of the contestants had submitted this design, he/she would have lost mega points for originality. You just don't do that as a designer. In fact, some of the past contestants had posted some wonderful orginal designs on the web for Kate's gown.
Grace Kelly's gown is iconic because it was original. Diana's gown is iconic because it was original, no matter how big and floofy it was. Jackie Kennedy's gown is iconic because it was original. In order for Kate's gown to achieve that same status it needed to be original as well. We may see some designers start adding sleeves on some of their gowns, as they did after Trump's daughter got married. However, that gown will never become an iconic gown because we've seen it before.
So, yes, after really looking foward to this gown, I too was sorely disappointed.
Ginoue, this is news about your gown! Are you adding custom sleeves to the gown you already bought or are chucking it for an entirely new gown? I couldn't understand from what you wrote.

Give us more details on the gown!!
I agree that Princess Catherine's gown is not original AND I totally get that you hate it on her. lol. I think there needs to be modesty in an actual royal, so for me I thought it was sweet. i am disappointed in the lack of originality. I mean eveen down to the bouquet. But she may have dreamed of that Grace Kelly dress all her life and she finally got to wear it for an actual prince. I am a big fan of her style, but it is mimiced a lot and Pippa's dress was worn in Red LAST YEAR on the red carpet by someone else. Lord. Those Middleton sisters are copycats! smh

Well, here's the story on my wedding dress. The pastor had issues with my wedding dress because it did not cover enough (or so he said). I always loved the top and the sleeves of Princesse Grace's gown, so I asked a local designer in Haiti to incorporate it somehow in my dress. (On paper, at first). THen if I like her sketches, I will think about "covering up" like the pastor said. I really wanted a laced bolero jacket for the church only, then at the reception, I can remove it. We'll see how it comes out.
So far, I have a sketch of my gown, but it looks totally like Grace Kelly's except the bottom is a form fitting, long pencil skirt
(Trying to post a picture) (lol)

How do I post pics anyways? Rosie? Please?
The gown I originally bought for myself, I blessed my cousin with it. My wedding was previously postponed due to my sister's health and I had a perfectly wonderful gown that was just sitting there waiting.
When my cousin asked me to be her matron of honour, I noticed the gown that she was going to be married in as her budget didn't allow for much room, I gifted her mine. So, I truly had to look elsewhere as I'm starting all over again.
Maybe the other gown was never meant to be mine in the first place. You should see just how totally awesome she looked in it.
Rosie, I'm looking to add custom sleeve to a gown that I've fallen in love with for the past 3 months, but a picture of the dress had the pastor shake his head. I want that dress!!!
This dress is really beautiful!

The back is lovely too!

Have you considered just adding a wrap or light jacket? You would be more modest at church, but it won't interrupt the lines of the dress.

I am so in love with this gown Rosie and I don't really want to alter it in any way.
Everything about my wedding has changed. I mean everything!!! I'm getting married in Haiti on August 18th, 2012 at 4:00 PM. I would so love a lace shrug in light gold or Pearl Rose, as I haven't made up my mind which color I want just yet.
Thanks for posting pictures of my gown for me. I appreciate it.
I wouldn't change anything. In church I see the need for modesty. I mean you would wear something strapless at Sunday morning mass anyway. But, it's your wedding day and when will we get to wear an over the top stunning ballgown again???
I love helping you guys. It is what the site was made for.
