The classic ballgowns are all just too heavy and too much for me to handle. I've always been proud of my legs so I have decided to go with a short dress. I went into Alfred Angelo and ran into this one:
It looks better on me. I have curves. hehe
Anyway, my wedding will be outside in a garden setting and is semi-formal. I felt that it would be very suitable and I wouldn't have to run and change into another dress.
Anybody else going down the aisle in a short dress?

Butterbean,
Go on with your bad self Miss Thang! Girl, I agree if you're proud of your legs, work that dress, honey! Don't hide your best assets. For a garden semi-formal wedding, yes, it would be very appropriate.

I didn't go short on my dress but my bridesmaids did. Here are some others I thought would be lovely for a garden setting. Is your wedding in the day or evening?

That last one is quite pretty Rosetta. Almost any white dress can look like a wedding dress these days.

Rosetta, I went to Alfred Angelo specifically for that dress. I had the page tore out from a magazine and gave it to the saleslady. It was beautiful, but when I tried it on, I was disappointed. I can't put my finger on why, but it just didn't look as good on me as the dress I chose.
*I remember now; I didn't like how the dress hung down at the bottom. It didn't "flare" on me as nicely as I wanted.
Butterbean, I love your dress choice for your garden wedding. I hope that it's an early afternoon wedding because you would look magnificent. Another thing to think about, please do not wear a veil with this dress, but rather flowers in your hair would look perfect.
You work what the Lord gave you sister and he's given you curves and long legs. You go DIVA!!!
Thank you Ginoue, but Ive already bought my veil. Since I'm not wearing a conventional wedding dress, I'll have to wear a veil in order to feel like a bride.
I wish that they had taken a better picture of that dress. It looks better in person in ivory.
If you are going to do a veil, the cage veil may look nice. I think you mentioned you were looking for one in another post.

How does your veil look?
The thing is sister it's your fabulous wedding day and you should have it your way. Ivory sounds really cool for your choice of dress.
I went all out and got a fingertip 2 teir veil with beading. LOL But it looks lovely. As soon as my dress comes in I'll post pictures.
Butterbean your dress choice is pretty. When is your wedding?
It's so funny I never considered a short dress or even looked at one but I am really loving the ones on this page.

I can't wait to see the pics. Well good thing you tried it on before you bought it, Butterbean! It may flare on the model because she has it pinned in the back. I have no objections at all to a veil (I mean it's your wedding day for christmas' sake!)just make sure it doesn't over power your dress. Lots of love and luck to ya!
This on is pretty too!
These aren't just for Vegas weddings anymore.

Hey butterbean, how you been girl? We've missed hearing from you.
Love the idea of a short dress and the one you picked is gorgeous. It's very fun and flirty which based upon your previous posts suits your personality well. I thought about doing it myself but feared everyone would really see how nervous I really was by me shifting my feet and my legs shaking while standing at the altar.
Are you doing a colored ribbon as well? How will you style your hair? Practically any hairstyle will probably work well.

Hello Pamcrow!
How are things with you?
I've been busy. FH and I are getting the basic wedding plans and vendor bookings out of the way now since we both will be busy in the fall with additional job duties, his business travels, MIL health care, relocations, etc.
The wedding will be in March 21 to satisfy my desire to have it outside during my favorite month (clear spring days, doesnt rain as much, not a lot of complexion issues). *We have a plan B in case of weather, but I would be completely pissed if that ever happens* We wont spend anymore than 10 grand; so far we are doing a magnificent job with our spending. I can see us pocketing 2 to 3 grand after the wedding.
What caught my eye about the dress Ive decided to get was the fact that the dress displayed had the sash in the EXACT color I'm using for my girls bridesmaid dresses. *I have those ready as well* So it's a "heck yes" on the colored sash question. LOL
My hair: I've lived a lifelong battle against my hair and hair salons. I've honestly never left a hair salon satisfied. Another reason for the thick veil is to hide my hair. I'm keeping it simple:
Good enough for me while saving a lot of money. LOL
i think the hairstyle goes well with the dress. short cut with a short dress, nice touch...will you also have a headband?
I like this look the dress and the hairstyle is soooo cute...I say go for it!!!

If someone has a need for Depends, they will just buy it at Walgreens.
The odor from urine is not something you want guests to smell while
walking down the aisle.
