Vibride I need your help.I do not know how to do my hair and I am starting to freak out.I have long, thick natural african hair.I don't want to relax it(I last relaxed it 6 yrs. ago) again. One week I plan to twist it for the wedding but if I do how will I style it.All last week I had decided that this week I will go and get it locks but I am chickening out now.I wouldn't be able to meet with my hairstylist until the week of the wedding cause the wedding is abroad.FH wants me to locks it but I don't know.I just want to look good.Locks are so permanent,I like my hair best after I take out the cornrolls and let it stay open. That is not going to look good under my veil though it will look to bulky.I am wearing a tiara and armslength veil.Send me some pics, suggestions anything please.I don't have access to any black hair books etc.thare can't be found where I live, hence another reason why I am sticking to my roots,if you get what I mean.

My 19 yr old decided several years ago to go natural. While she does nt hve very coarse hair, she decided to twist it. It's nt locked, but they twist it from the roots and it resembles locks but can be washed out. Then she pins it into several different styles. Or you may consider using an old fashioned straightening comb. The kind you put on the stove to heat and run it through your hair to give the appearance of a perm as long as you don't get it wet. Good Luck and keep us posted.

I went on search for you and here are some pics that i think you can at least take with you to a sylist to give tham an idea of what you want keep in mind that you can wash and twist your hair or have it straw-set to achive some of these styles:

[/quote]I have considered this but if it gets wet well the hair style disappears.I am leaning to the idea of twisting and styling it.Thanks for your suggestions. They are appreciated.
Thanks georgiagurl.I like the sort of look that the bride in #1 has.I wear my hair like the last bride but with a hair band pushed off my face.I don't want to wear cornrows for fear the tiara wouldn't fit down properly. Thanks once again.

See I don't know how to post pics but styles 1 & 2 are what I'm talking about. My daughters is quite long so she doesn't wear it out as much. But that is how it looked when she 1st started. When it's done like in #2 you can pull it up into a style
