From the simplest reception to the most extravagant affair, entertainment plays an important role.
The Champagne Hour
The Champagne Hour
Depending on your taste in music, each of these sections can vary in theme or flow with one general music program. The Champagne hour is where all of the guests first gather after arriving from the ceremony to unwind, have drinks and mingle before dinner. Depending on where the reception takes place, the Champagne hour is usually held at a separate area from the dinning area. It is recommended to have mainly soft background music.
From one musician to a small ensemble, some suggestions can included a classical quartet consisting of two violins, cello and flute. A solo harp or paired with flute, an acoustic guitarist will also add elegance to any affair. A swinging Dixieland ensemble will keep things lively. Perhaps a simple solo piano performing smooth ballads will add that special touch of class. The sensuous sound of a strolling solo saxophone may be a good idea. The saxophone can also be paired with the piano to produce a Jazzy ambiance. Whatever the choice, the entertainment should add to a relaxing atmosphere as guests have an enjoyable time. Soon the Champagne hour will start to wind down and guests will be asked to make their way to the dinning area.
