For Vibrant Brides of Color

Rehearsal Dinner Checklist

The responsibility for this is the Groom's Family. But you should know what to expect in case this responsibility falls to you.

The purpose of the rehearsal dinner is to get newly merging family members together in a relaxed, informal setting. It is usually held after the ceremony rehearsal and hosted by the groom's parents. But it can also be held just before the rehearsal or even on an entirely different day.

You can choose an elegant formal dinner at a restaurant or country club, or a themed rehearsal dinner that reflects your interests. The event should be enjoyable for your guests and everyone should feel relaxed, welcomed and special.

Either at the beginning or during the meal, introduce your families to each other, adding personal comments about each guest if you wish.

This is also a time to say thank you to your parents and attendants. You can give your attendants their gifts at this time.
