Ajia's Bridal Shower

Good morning all! My wonderful bridal party and family threw me a surprise bridal shower yesterday. (Just so you know, I'm not an easy to surprise because I'm nosy!) I figured that something was up because for the past week and a half people were acting really funny around me and never really saying much of any thing.

FH has been promising to take me to see the Lion King on Broadway for quite some time now, so he said that he had to stop by the church to pick up something then we would be on our way. Well when I walked in, EVERYONE jumped out and said surpise! (He really is taking me to see Lion King in September.)

For those who don't know, I minored in Japanese at Howard University. My bridal party took that theme and ran with it. All of the bridesmaids had on Japanese Kimono tops, there were paper lanterns and asian decorations everywhere. There was even a table full of Japanese deserts.

I'm sorry I have to rush to church now but I promise I'll be back on later with pictures and more thoughts and stories. Be back soon!

That was so original and sounds like fun. Are you doing Asia theme for wedding?

Re: Ajia's Bridal Shower

Pam, no, we are not doing an Asian theme for the wedding. This was completely them just taking one of my hobbies and showing how well they knew me. :)

The day was great. FH was very sneaky in getting me to the church but I am thankful that he was. As I said, they decorated the our church's school auditorium with Asian paper lanterns, fans, teapots, Kimonos, posters dolls, etc.

My bridesmaids and junior bridesmaids were all dressed in these cute kimono tops and they had mine waiting for me. FH was supposed to tell me to wear black pants to but I was being nosy of everything he said so he was afraid to make me more suspicious.

My sister danced a beautiful praise dance to Kirk Franklin's "My Life, My Love, My All" that made us all cry for the next few minutes. When the spirit takes over, it really does!

I had so much fun and am very thankful for all of the hard work and effort that went into the event. Family and friends are a good thing!

Ajia you are so blessed and obviously very deserving to have people that care that much about you. Congratulations on a successful shower!

Re: Ajia's Bridal Shower

Ajia to me this goes with that elaborate proposal at the Ritz. Just the fact that your friends and family put so much thought into your interests and incorporated them into your shower was great! Anybody can have some food, decorations and stripper - but when they actually flex those creative muscles and cater to you- THAT'S LOVE!

Thank you all! I still can't believe how much creativity and work they put into everything. I'm getting all of the pics together to make an album this week. :)
